After ensuring all camping gear and supplies are packed, we head to Mto wa Mbu for a brief stop to pick up any last-minute items. From there, continue the scenic drive towards Serengeti, with a picnic lunch en route within the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. As we approach the Naabi Hill Gate, you’ll enter Serengeti National Park, where your first game drive begins. Expect to encounter a wide variety of wildlife as you explore the endless plains of the Serengeti. By late afternoon, we will reach the designated campsite, where you can set up camp and unwind as the sun sets. Day 1: Arusha - Serengeti National Park Start your safari and camping adventure with hotel pickup from Arusha in the morning. Drive to Serengeti National Park with your complimentary packed lunch. Take a game drive en route to the campsite. Discover Serengeti National Park, known for its abundance of animals and the great wildebeest migration. It's a World Heritage Site teeming with wildlife and is home to lions, leopards, elephants, cheetahs, buffalos, zebras, wildebeest, eland, wild dogs, gazelles, crocodiles, and many birds, including Eurasia migrant birds. Have dinner and stay overnight in a tent at the camp Day 2: Full Day at Serengeti After breakfast, you will go on wide-ranging morning and afternoon game drives in Serengeti National Park. Your guide will locate the flocks of migrant birds and the herds. Spot carnivores like big cats and hyenas. See the annual migration of wildebeest and zebra in action. Learn about the park as you drive and see why the Maasai gave the park the name Serengeti, which means “endless plains”. Day 1: Arrival in Arusha City Serengeti Mara Safaris guide will pick you up at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) or Arusha Airport (ARK) and take you to their office in Arusha. As local Tanzanians, their guides know well the country and Arusha city, so you’ll be in good hands from when you arrive to the moment you leave. Accommodation: Arusha Tourist Inn Hotel / Venice Hotel Day 2: Arusha / Moshi to Tarangire National Park After breakfast, you will be picked up from the hotel by the driver/guide and drive to Tarangire National Park. Tarangire is well known for its large elephant herds. From the open roof of the vehicle, you will experience the seasonal swamps, savanna, and Tarangire River in search of many animals, including zebra, wildebeest, buffalo, elephant, and giraffe. There is so much to see on this day. Accommodation: Karatu Safari Camp Lodge Day 3: Serengeti National Park After breakfast, drive up the crater highlands, stopping at the rim for a spectacular view of the Ngorongoro Crater. Continuing as far as the eye can see is the vast Serengeti. Serengeti means "endless plain" and more than two million wildebeest inhabit this 6900 square miles (18000 square kilometers) park. Large predators, including lions, cheetahs, and hyenas, are drawn to the area by this abundance of prey, which migrates throughout the park. Many smaller animals like rock hyrax, bat-eared foxes, mongoose, honey badgers, jackals, monkeys, baboons, and African hares also inhabit the area, along with nearly 500 species of birds. Later in the late afternoon, you will drive to Simba campsite in Ngorongoro for an overnight stay. Accommodation: Africa Safari Ikoma Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater Today, you will wake up very early to do an early morning safari before breakfast to spot the animals when they are more active and also to have a fantastic sunrise in front of you. The sunrise in the African Savannah is one of the most beautiful experiences one can have. You will then travel to Ngorongoro Crater, inhabited by almost every species of wildlife indigenous to East Africa including the rare black rhino. In fact, the crater has the greatest concentration of wildlife on the planet.
