Spend a day in the capital of the historical region of Transylvania, the city of Sibiu. There you'll admire one of the most beautiful medieval cityscapes in Romania, as evidenced by the city's title as "European Capital of Culture". On the drive down, you'll find out more about the Saxons roots, their colonization in Transylvania and their cultural impact on the country. In Sibiu, you'll start off by seeing the city's walls and the three main squares. Then you'll visit two of the most important churches. Climbing up to the top of the Council Tower will give you a beautiful overview of the old city. In the afternoon, you will take a short excursion from Sibiu to visit two villages that seem to be stuck in time: Cristian and Sibiel. Here, the population lives from what it produces locally and horse-drawn carriages are a daily occurrence. You'll visit the fortified church in Cristian and then you will visit the glass paintings museum in Sibiel. In the afternoon, you'll head back to Cluj-Napoca.

The Transfagarasan mountain road (or national road 7C) is one of the most spectacular roads in the world, according to Top Gear. Located in Romania, it runs trough the Fagaras mountains and has more tunnels and viaducts than any other road in Romania. Discover this fantastic route with a daily bus transfer service between Sibiu and the Balea area, and explore the stunningly beautiful Balea waterfall and lake on your own. This is a touristic bus and will only go on route with reservation. The duration of transfers is approximate, and the exact duration will depend on the time of day and traffic conditions.  The part of Transfagarasan road between Balea Cascada and Balea Lac is operated by the cable car. We are NOT responsible for the operating hours of the cable car, nor can we influence them. Wonderful!!😍 George is a very nice guy , very polite and friendly, sharing all his knowledge and try to make us feel home in all the places that we visit together. Sibiu is such a special place , you will fall in love immediately with its corners and specially with the eyes of they roofs (it seems like they are watching you) . We really liked how knowledgeable our guide was and how well he knew the area and the history behind it. I went with my mom who was slower to climb and he was very patient and helpful with her and adapted the route on the way back down. It was a great day and would recommend if you're not afraid of a good hike and want amazing views!
