  • Santa Catalina Island: Nautilus Semi-Submarine Cruise

    4. Santa Catalina Island: Nautilus Semi-Submarine Cruise

Join the captain and crew and set off on a 45-minute exploratory mission through Lover's Cove, a State Marine Conservation Area sanctuary. Traverse amazing undersea gardens and ocean habitats in a semi-submersible vessel designed after America's first nuclear-powered submarine, the USS Nautilus, on a trip that is both educational and entertaining. Let your imagination descend into the depths of the ocean as you explore the magic and wonder of undersea life on the Nautilus. Venture into the ocean and through the kelp forest in a state-of-the-art vessel. Learn about what you see with the crew and research team, and let them entertain you with their stories. As you learn and explore, interact with the fish through a specially designed feeding system. Launch fish food torpedoes right from your seat (at an additional cost) and instigate feeding frenzies right outside your personal porthole.

Such a unique experience. My husband and I travel often and have never done anything like this! They take you to three different spots and you can see the kelp and different fish. Although you do see the same fish and kelp at each spot, it was still pretty awesome to see the fish up that close. I don't foresee myself ever snorkeling or scuba diving, so it was amazing to see the oceanlife. The guide was informative but he was not required to wear a mask, so him coming up to talk to us was a bit unsettling. Also, if you order mobile tickets you are still required to checkin and get your tickets printed. Overall excellent experience and highly recommend if visiting Catalina island!

Overall it was a good experience would like to stay a bit longer at Pebble Beach & Carmel. The San Francisco day was excellent. I would skip the City Hall and would prefer more a stop at Golden Gate Park or at Muir Woods. The Yosemite day was great the only problem we had was an Austrian couple was late by 25 minutes from our first El Capitan stop. This made coming back to Los Angeles very late.

As you walk through Hollywood’s golden age on this 1-hour walking tour, you’ll marvel at the famous, oft-photographed buildings on the city’s Walk of Fame, all the while delving in to the ghostly presences that haunt the boulevard to this day. Ambling along the fabled throughway, become enraptured by your guide’s accounts of murder, obsession, and the dark dealings that crack through Hollywood’s glitzy façade. Pass by the TCL Chinese Theater, the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel, the Pantages, and more. Take an uncompromising look at the ebbs and flows of fortune that underly Los Angeles’ smiling exterior, and the apparitions that assure that time will not be forgotten.

The host was great, but we realized that we were more interested in the history behind the buildings and not so much the « ghost part » but thankfully she made it interesting for everyone !

It was well organised and great experience. Would have preferred longer time in Vegas since we stayed there for about half day. Also the last day we just had one hour in Zion which is not ideal, would have appreciated if it’s Antelope instead of Zion.
