The river bed cuts through sandstone formations, and the many architectural sculptures of Hindu mythology have been carved within the sandstone. 3. Cambodia remains one of the most heavily mined countries in the world as a result of decades of conflict, including a civil war, the brutal Khmer Rouge regime and genocide, American bombings, and Vietnamese occupation. Dozens of civilians are still injured or killed every year by landmines and other unexploded ordnance that have been left over from all the fighting. Landmines and UXOs are found in backyards, in the rice fields where people work, and on the roads where children walk to school. Millions of the country’s landmines have now been cleared, but there is still a lot of work to be done; it is estimated Cambodia will not be entirely free of landmines for several decades to come.

I had booked a full day, where we started at the Elephant Sanctuary after being picked up at the hotel and receiving general explanations about the country on the way. Even here, the guide/driver team took great care of us and made every effort to organize everything as well as possible for everyone, and then we were warmly welcomed at the sanctuary. After a briefing about everything that needed to be taken into account, we were allowed to feed, scrub and wash as planned. An unforgettable experience. Afterwards, we unexpectedly had a great lunch on the lake, so that we would have energy for the Banteay Srei temple and Kbal Spean with the 1000 lingas including the waterfall at the end. Throughout the day, we were accompanied by our guide Seila with much, much more service and explanations, always warm and sunny. The organizer even spontaneously reorganized a few things for the other visitors according to our wishes. Thank you very much for an unforgettable, great experience!

Many thanks to my guide Lee for the great experience over these 3 days. I did not expect such a nice welcome, teaching and a great transfer to the 9 temples that we saw in the two days. I was able to learn a little about the great Khmer empire, its religion and its great wealth. Incredible people, they were always aware of everything. Always with a big smile. On the third day I was able to learn a little about the local markets, its people and its great gastronomy. The chef is a wonderful person.

It's very amazing temples to see. And my driver was friendly. I would recommend this tour and these place. Thank you.
