Tweed Heads: Tweed River and Rainforest Cruise with Lunch

1. Tweed Heads: Tweed River and Rainforest Cruise with Lunch

The River & Rainforest Cruise visits the Riparian Rainforest, mangrove forests and biodiverse Stotts Island on this 3.5 hour experience. You will be served a morning tea on board as you cruise leisurely from the marina, being entertained and educated with the Captain's commentary on local wildlife and history. As we reach Stotts Island you can spot the Brahminy Kite and other birds of prey that call the region home. It is, after all, the third most biodiverse region in Australia and home to over 400 species of trees, birds and plant life! As the vessel departs for home you will be served your grazing board lunch platter with locally smoked and cured meats, cheeses, quiches, salad, prawns, fruits and bread. The onboard licensed bar is open for purchases too, so why not try one of our locally brewed and distilled beers or spirits. We support local as much as possible, and so serve produce from within an 80km radius as much as possible! The picturesque views of the Border Ranges and Wollumbin (Mt Warning) set a truly special backdrop for this delightful day out on the Tweed River. The fresh air, blue waters and panoramic views will have you relaxing into nature on this not-to-be-missed day out.

Gold Coast Theme Parks: Shared Hotel Transfers

Movie World, Sea World, Wet'n'Wild Gold Coast water park, Dreamworld, and WhiteWater World. Save money with a round-trip shared transfer, and then enjoy the rides of some of the tallest rollercoasters in Australia, marvel as movie magic comes to life, and get up-close-and-personal with sea life.

Tweed Valley Food & Culture from Gold Coast or Kingscliff

3. Tweed Valley Food & Culture from Gold Coast or Kingscliff

The trip begins with an early(ish) pick-up from your chosen Gold Coast, Tweed, Coolangatta, or Kingscliff hotel. Upon boarding our customised Kiff & Culture van, we cruise through verdant hinterlands towards a scenic working fruit farm. Enhance your energy with a barista-made coffee before beginning a juicy tasting session. As one of the largest fruit plantations on earth, the farm grows over 500 varieties on its sprawling 200-acre plot. Munch on citrusy goodness while learning the growing process and savouring those sweeping hinterland views. Ready to immerse yourself in the Tweed’s burgeoning bohemian scene? Our next stop is a vibrant Murwillimbah arts precinct. But before we peruse each artistic offering, we’ll treat our taste buds to some soft creamy goodness from Tweed’s top cheese supplier. Shall we nibble on camembert or brie? Set in a stunning Art Deco edifice, the precinct is a cool creative haven housing around 28 local artisans, each with an intriguing working studio. Chat with the makers in-person to learn about the artisanal process—feel free to purchase your favourite works. All that art appreciation must have made you peckish. Our trip concludes with a long lazy lunch at Tweed’s top distillery. We’ll chew through a gourmet feast—how does chargrilled octopus with herbed whipped feta and fried capers sound?—while sipping colourful cocktails and admiring gorgeous hinterland views. True booze connoisseurs will adore their award-winning gin and rum selection.

Overall rating

Needed butter or more oil for bread as oil supplied was only enough for one slice of the bread. Quiche would have been better if it had been warm rather than cold. Time of lunch needs to be brought forward to 12pm. Was supposed to be a seafood lunch but the only seafood provided was only three prawns for each person. Quantity and quality of food provided was good.

Friendly driver with excellent knowledge of the coast and prompt pick up…definitely recommend!
