Enjoy the flexibility of a small-group tour with the possibility to go to the best locations only a van can reach. Meet your guide and hop into a comfortable minivan that seats 6-8 people. The pick-up from your accommodation is included (15 km radius of Saariselkä center). Set off on a hunt for the Northern Lights, also known as the Aurora Borealis. Ask your guide any questions you have about the Northern Lights, nature, Lapland, the local culture, and beyond. Drive as far as possibly feasible to find clear skies and hopefully see the lights. We don't just drive to the same spot every night and wait for the clouds to move and the lights to appear. We literally hunt them! Sip on warm drinks and nibble on snacks during the breaks. If you don't have a camera or tripod, request a photography tour in advance and the shots can be seen and purchased after the tour. Wear comfortable clothing for the van ride (it might be a long one, depending on weather conditions) and bring a warm winter jacket, beanie, gloves, and winter boots to spend time outdoors under the Northern Lights. Remember the Northern lights are a natural phenomenon and cannot be guaranteed, but the guides will do everything to provide you with clear information, based on their experience and expertise, which will help you to understand and experience them.

The visibility of Northern lights depends for example on the weather and activity of the Sun, but this trip is to offer you the best chance to see the lights on the best possible location in Ivalo – Saariselka area. The site is absolute dark site far from the village lights and hotels. This is important because most of the lights are relatively faint so in absolute darkness you will see much more. The site also has got a great micro climate which means that even if it is foggy on Inari lake or Saariselka fells the sky might be clear on our site. The longer you stay the more you see. This is why our tour is relatively long. The best hour to see the lights is just before the midnight but the best lights may appear whenever. On the way to the site we stop the car even several times if needed and follow the lights. During this tour we also spend nice time in a tepee on the best possible site for following the sky and barbeque for all tastes and diets. We will also advice you in taking pictures and we will make pictures ourselves which we share with you from our cloud service. Please be aware of the pick up times and locations. We keep right to change pickup times. Quality or number of pictures is not guaranteed.

What's particularly great is that it's a family-run business. You can clearly see that the owners really care about the animals' well-being. The walk was really lovely. The guide really takes his time and tells us interesting things about the animals. After the walk, we still had enough time to get to know the other animals. To round things off, we were served tea and cake in a hut by the fire. An absolute recommendation!

Wonderful experience! We rode snowmobiles on Ivalo river (first) and Inari lake (later), the ride was longer than I expected! We had a few stops to learn some insights about the area and we hade the chance to switch the driver. We finally arrived at destination, where we fed the reindeers and had a wonderful lunch. Thank you Tina and Tapio for welcoming us and for this amazing day!

We had an unforgettable evening with our guide Max who immersed us in the real Lapland. We were able to have a glimpse into the daily life of the people who live in this extraordinary region, far from our daily life and taste his reindeer stew 😁 We recommend this experience 🇫🇮

The amethyst mine tour is a great family tour. Everything was well-organized : we received the pick-up time a couple of days before, our guide was increasingly kind, punctual and shared a lots of good tips on Lapland. I highly recommend.

Dinner in the hut was beautiful, we would have preferred more time to observe the Northern Lights.
