  • From Paris: Fairytale Loire Castles with Wine Tasting

    1. From Paris: Fairytale Loire Castles with Wine Tasting

From Paris, head to Château de Chambord. Disney fans will find this castle’s turrets familiar; it was the inspiration for the castle in "Beauty and the Beast." Though originally conceived as a royal hunting lodge, it was built to a scale that must be seen to be believed.

Learn all about the castle’s captivating history from your guide, before getting your own chance to explore. Climb a staircase supposedly designed by Da Vinci, enjoy spectacular turret-framed rooftop views, and glimpse wild deer around the grounds.

Having worked up an appetite, get back on the bus and continue on to the next stop: the quaint town of Blois. Take some free time to enjoy lunch (at your own expense) in one of the restaurants located around the beautiful and vibrant Square Louis XII.

Alternatively, grab a bite and visit ...

This was a wonderful day with a lot to see and do - from the magical castles to the wine-tasting and walking. The guide Addie was so informative and interesting, and the driver Eric was excellent. Everything was made easy. The guide gave tips on the best way to view a site so that you can maximise the visit - such as which rooms to see first and then what to do if there is still time. Because of this information, I made sure to fit in some of the things to do "at the end" - such as visiting the flower garden or the horse stables. I loved the little restaurant too in Blois, and had a relaxing lunch.

What a fantastic day, in spite of it being rainy, cloudy and overcast! Bastein provided us with a great narrative of the region during our time together and I was sorry to see our day come to an end. Our lunch with a French producer was just delightful…..food was delicious and our host shared her love of champagne and food with such a beautiful smile! So glad we added this trip to our Paris itinerary.

I loved learning about the history of the Poilane bread, the buckwheat crepe with ham and cheese was my first savory crepe and so good! • From Paris: Small-Group Moët & Chandon Champagne Tour

    6. From Paris: Small-Group Moët & Chandon Champagne Tour

The only place in the world that is able to grow and produce Champagne is located just outside Paris. On this full-day (11-hour) excursion you’ll also learn about the history of Champagne master Dom Perignon. Visit the quaint chapel and grave site of Dom Perignon, the father of Champagne and then meet with a local producer to learn about the growing process. Enjoy a fully guided tour at the House of Moët and Chandon, the world’s largest producers of Champagne. Take a walk through part of their 40 kilometers of cellars. Before heading back to Paris you’ll also visit the beautiful Cathedral of Reims and have free time to explore inside where all of the French Kings were crowned. During the day you’ll have the opportunity to taste at least 4 different types of Champagne and even pick up some bottles for souvenirs if you’d like. They can accompany you back to Paris in the van.

I love the way the tour was organized- the first visit to the family vineyard with an in depth explanation & then the tour of Moët and Chandon as a review guide. The only complaint we had was the guide recommended a restaurant and only gave us 45 minutes for lunch. We had to severely rush even though we requested more time from the guide (she gave us 10 minutes). All this so we could walk across the parking lot to Moët and Chandon in order to arrive 10 minutes early and then wait another 10-15 minutes.

  • Paris: Wine Museum Guided Tour with Wine Tasting

    7. Paris: Wine Museum Guided Tour with Wine Tasting

Take part in a unique French wine experience in the heart of Paris! The experience takes place right by the Louvre, in stunning 18th century wine cellars that were once used by the King of France himself. Each one of your 5 senses is stimulated with games, videos and surprising discoveries. The experience is highly interactive and learning about wine suddenly becomes easy and fun. At the end of the tour, choose and taste the three wines of your choice. The sommelier will teach you the tasting techniques and explain the nuances of French grapes. The wine list changes every week!

A must . We enjoyed the info and the wine and did not take much time out of our itinerary. 5 star tour!

  • From Paris: Small-Group Mont St Michel Tour & Cider Tasting

    8. From Paris: Small-Group Mont St Michel Tour & Cider Tasting

Discover one of the most unique settlements in France on a day trip from Paris to the mountainous city island of Mont St-Michel on the Normandy coast. Transfer from Paris by comfortable minibus or van, and then enjoy some free time on arrival at the stunning UNESCO World Heritage Site. Rising from the sea or sand (depending on the tide), the town is known for its soaring spires, imposing ramparts, and steep streets. Crowned by the fortified Abbaye du Mont St-Michel (dedicated to Saint Michael the Archangel), Mont St-Michel remains little changed since the Middle Ages. Explore the village at your own pace, and the interior of the abbey (where Benedictine monks still hold early morning mass) by audio guide. Hear stories of the legends of a unusual jewel of France. Normandy is also known for it’s wonderful apple production and you’ll make a special stop to taste some of the famous Cider ...

Olivier was wonderful guide. Insightful and knowledgable. He also was very helpful and listened to our needs. We were very happy to choose this way of visiting Mont-Saint-Michel!

  • Paris: French Wine Tasting Class with Sommelier

    9. Paris: French Wine Tasting Class with Sommelier

Join the kind of class you weren't offered at school and get advice on how to identify, select, and taste wine. Held in a lovely location in central Paris, you will go on a journey through the wine regions of France for the wine tasting tour de France option, and get a much better understanding and knowledge about wine in general. The venue is a few minutes walk from the Louvre, and you will taste different wines, from different regions of France. Discover the difference between the wine produce of Champagne and Bordeaux, of Sancerre and the Rhone. With a unique and refreshing approach, your sommelier will take you through a variety of themes to build up your wine knowledge. He will teach you how Champagne is made and how to taste wine properly. He will take you through the main wine regions of France, the grapes they grow, and the style of wine they make. He will also teach you how to...

The location was great, as well as the selection of wines. The sommlier was engaging with a phenomenal personality & knowledge base. I would say, the information is more for beginners and overview is extremely breif about regions and varietals (but to be honest France is large and there are thousands of vinyards, impossible to cover in depth in an hour). Having an extensive knowledge base from working in the wine industry for the US, I always feel any opportunity is one to learn from, however, besides a few wine facts from the French perspective, I cannot say it was significantly informative for wine geeks. In other words, if you want to have a great time and try some delicious French wines, go! If you already know quite a bit, just sit back and enjoy the tasting :) it's a tasting foremost, and not a class. I enjoyed it as a last hurrah in Paris.

  • Small-Group Loire Valley Castles Full-Day Tour from Paris

    10. Small-Group Loire Valley Castles Full-Day Tour from Paris

Discover some of the finest castles of the Loire Valley on a small group, full-day tour from Paris. Transfer by air-conditioned minibus to the castles of Chenonceau, Chambord, and Amboise. Walk in the flower gardens of the Château de Chenonceau, and gaze at the delicate arches that cross the Cher River. Learn the extraordinary history of the building, which was run by women for much of its time in existence. Continue to Chambord to investigate the largest castle of the Loire Valley. Marvel at the extravagant architecture and double spiraled staircase of the royal Château de Chambord. See the hundreds of columns and spires that adorn its roof. End the day at the former home of King Francois I, and see the tomb of Leonardo Da Vinci at Amboise village and the Château d’Amboise. Confiscated by the monarchy in the 15th century, it was a favorite royal residence and extensively rebuilt.

We had a great time learning the history of the castles we visited as well as walking through each castle. My only concern is the timing of our arrival back to Paris. The tour was scheduled for 12 hours (7am to 7pm), but we arrived back at 8:30pm, disrupting our dinner plans.

Frequently asked questions about Paris

What top attractions are a must-see in Paris?

Planning Your Visit

  • What should you know before you arrive in Paris?

In a city this crowded with people and this steeped in tradition, you should decide which attractions you want to see in advance. Know which museums are a must-visit for your group. Make dinner reservations. Decide which neighborhoods you want to explore. Figure out how to beat the crowds at the Musee d'Orsay.

  • How big is Paris?

If you haven't been to Paris before, you may be surprised by how sprawling the city is compared to other, more walkable tourist destinations like Rome or Barcelona. (You can certainly walk -- but the Métro will help you zip around quicker!) Try to organize your sightseeing by neighborhood, so that you're not racing across the city several times a day.

  • How many days should you spend in Paris?

It depends! It really will help to prioritize what you want to see before you go, and map out how long it will take you to see everything on your list. You could easily fill five days with tours and major attractions -- but remember to dedicate time to strolling down the Seine, shopping your way through the Marais, and drinking a Kir Royal at a sidewalk cafe.

Great experience - the tour guide was really lovely (I can't remember her name, she was petite and just the sweetest ever!!) We recommend going at night - when it lights up its so gorgeous. The only negative, there was absolutely no social distancing. In fact, it was encouraged to get closer. This was a bit stressful for us because we were trying our best to stay distanced (we were doing Covid tests whilst away to be able to come home) So we just would've liked the opportunity for distancing.

Olivia was a fun and energetic guide. She clearly loves what she does. She was a great driver, too! This is a long day but it’s interesting to experience the differences between the wild gardens of Monet and the structured gardens at Versailles. Enjoy!

Εξαιρετικη!!!! Φοβερή οργάνωση και τα εισιτήρια έρχονται αμέσως στο email. Εξυπηρέτηση και έλεγχος εισιτηρίων στο κινητό σου.

Ay 9: line for thé crêpes and line for the cruise, quite some people but the boat was big enough.
