Skip-the-Line: Paris Catacombs Guided Tour with VIP Access

1. Skip-the-Line: Paris Catacombs Guided Tour with VIP Access

Paris is commonly known for its beauty and romance. However, far beneath the Eiffel Tower and the Louvre is an entirely different, intimidating world. In the Catacombs of Paris there is an inscription above a doorway that reads: Beware of the Realm of Death. This is a suitable warning to prepare you for a memorable, once-in-a-lifetime experience. Access to the Catacombs is extremely limited as only 200 people are allowed to enter the site at a time. Consequently, lines can be very long and waits can be up to 2 hours. Privileged, skip-the-line access lets you save time and energy to make the most out of this personalized visit. Nearly 300 kilometers of tunnels and narrow paths stretch below the streets of Paris. Originally, the Catacombs were limestone quarries, hollowed out for the construction of the most famous bridges and buildings in the city. Beginning in the 18th century, the Catacombs served as the final resting place for more than 6 million people, and skeletons, bones, and skulls of exhumed bodies neatly line the walls and arches. Join this exclusive small-group, skip-the-line tour and see Paris in a different light than ever before.

Our family of four (two kids aged 8 and 11) thoroughly enjoyed the experience. From the freshly baked goods served for breakfast, to the engaging tour guide, to the demos and the hands-on lessons, we enjoyed every bit of the tour. Our tour guide, David, was extremely good at making the tour informative yet fun for the adults and kids. The icing on the cake was the bag of freshly baked goods we got to take back after the demo.

We really enjoyed our tour. We tasted some amazing food as well as learning about the Montematre area and Paris more generally. We tasted a wide variety of pastries and chocolate as well as some cheese and wine. The opportunity to sit down and enjoy the cheese, wine and charcuterie gave us a good chance to talk to others on the tour. The tour lasted just over three hours which people should factor into their planning.

It was awesome! I recommend! Our guide was super nice and even if I came from the country I learned a lot! On the bad side, which isn't about the tour at all: some other tourists (from the states) were a little rude and weren't eating the plates given so i don't really the point in coming if you're not willing to try stuff out... in a FOOD TOUR? Anyways i recommend a lot! :D

Exceptional tour! In spite of the rain this was the best tour we took on our recent trip to Paris. Knowledgeable local tour guide with excellent English took us to 5 shops we would never have found on our own. Felt like a local friend taking us to his favorite places with a bit of history mixed in. Our teenagers loved it too!

Igor was our guide and was energetic, knowledgeable and made the whole experience fun! My teens loved making their own bread and we took home armloads. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a way to connect with French culture away from the museums.
