Paris: Arc de Triomphe Rooftop Tickets

Paris: Arc de Triomphe Rooftop Tickets

The Arc de Triomphe is a Neoclassical take on the ancient Roman triumphal arch style. Fifty meters tall, the view from the platform atop the arch is well worth the hike. See the dozen Parisian avenues radiating out from the arch into the City of Light. Paris is one of the most fascinating places in the world and you will find yourself right at its center. Inspired by the great arches of ancient Rome, Napoleon commissioned the Arc de Triomphe shortly after his victory at Austerlitz. Unfortunately, he never lived to see its completion. At the base of the arch, the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier pays tribute to the 1.3 million French soldiers who died in World War I. Behold the eternal flame that is rekindled at 6.30 PM each evening. In addition, there is a must-see exhibition that explains the symbolic importance of this monument. The view from the top of the arch is worth climbing the 284 stairs. From your privileged position, survey all of Paris. Unlike the obligatory Eiffel Tower trip, getting into the Arc de Triomphe is an effort not all tourists undertake.

But when is the best time to visit Paris? This month-by-month guide takes you through the top activities in the French capital, with ideal times to experience the scenic Seine River, picturesque parks, and vibrant cultural events. Whether you’re planning a romantic getaway, a family trip to Disneyland Paris, or to see the seasonal lights on the Champs-Élysées, this breakdown will reveal the best months to go to Paris for sightseeing, budget travel, and local festivals.

Choosing the best time to go to Paris

Best time for outdoor lovers

Spring in Paris features mild weather and blooming gardens, perfect for strolling along the Seine River, picnicking in the Luxembourg Gardens, or enjoying outdoor cafés. Key attractions like the Eiffel Tower and the Tuileries Garden are ideal places to visit during this pleasant season.

Best time for budget travelers

The low season falls between January and April, offering lower flight and hotel prices. While the weather is colder, it’s the perfect time to travel on a budget.

Best time for sightseeing

For those who want to explore Paris’s museums, monuments, and landmarks without too many crowds, September and October offer comfortable weather and fewer tourists. You can enjoy quieter visits to the Musée d'Orsay, Notre-Dame, and Montmartre, making either month the best time to visit Paris for sightseeing.

Paris throughout the seasons

Spring in Paris (March to May)

Spring is one of the most romantic times to visit Paris. Flowers bloom all over, and the pleasant weather is perfect for outdoor activities in the city. This season also hosts events like the Foire du Trône, one of Europe’s largest fairs, and Nuit des Musées, where museums open their doors for free late-night visits.

Summer in Paris (June to August)

Summer in Paris brings long, sunny days for outdoor concerts, river cruises, and visits to Paris Plages, the city’s urban beach. You’ll be able to experience significant events like Bastille Day and the Tour de France during this season. However, it’s also the busiest time for tourism, so be prepared for larger crowds.

Fall in Paris (September to November)

Fall in Paris means cooler weather and fewer tourists, making it an ideal time to enjoy the city’s many cultural attractions and local markets. The Montmartre Grape Harvest Festival and the Paris Mid-Autumn Festival are popular events showcasing the city’s vibrant artistic scene.

Winter in Paris (December to February)

Winter in Paris is chilly but magical. Christmas markets, light displays, and ice skating rinks adorn the city during the holiday season, and there’s a chance of snow during this season. The quieter streets make it a serene time for museum visits and cozying up in cafés.

Le Marais Pastries Food Tour offers a delightful experience, but there are a few aspects that could be improved. One key critique is the timing of the tour. It’s better to start the tour later in the morning, ideally after 10:30 AM. The early start, while it may seem like an advantage, doesn’t align well with the opening hours of several bakeries. Some of the pastries are not as fresh or fully prepared early on, which can be a letdown. Starting later allows for a better variety of freshly baked goods, enhancing the overall experience. Additionally, the exploration of hidden gems or less touristy locations makes the tour feel more unique and special. Rachel was informative and patient with sharing stories about the food shops we visited.

I had an amazing tour with Camila! She was super friendly and engaging- I was very impressed by how well she knew the history of the neighborhood, and it was really cool getting to learn about the modern elements and how the area has changed over time. She also pointed out a lot of hidden street art- it felt like we were hunting for Easter eggs and I had a blast. It was my first day (and first time) in Paris so this was a great way for me to get to know the area before exploring on my own- Camila had awesome recommendations for food, shopping, and anything else I asked about. Highly recommend!!

I had an amazing photoshoot experience in Paris with Jona! From the start, she was incredibly professional, friendly, and made me feel comfortable in front of the camera. Her guidance on striking the best poses was invaluable, and she truly brought out the best in me. The photos turned out stunning, capturing both the beauty of the city and my personality perfectly 😊 If you're looking for a talented and supportive photographer, I highly recommend Jona! ❤️

Had an amazing photoshoot with Jona! She was professional, punctual, and made the session effortless. Her eye for detail and guidance resulted in stunning photos. Friendly, patient, and talented—highly recommend!
