Visit Lake Balaton, the largest freshwater lake in Central Europe and known to locals as the Hungarian Sea. Visit Balatonfüred, the most important traditional bathing resort, located on the northern shore. Stroll along the tree-lined avenues and enjoy the ambiance of 18th century villas. Walking along the yachting marina, you will have a chance to enjoy the view of the Tihany Peninsula. Take a 1-hour boat cruise on the lake. After lunch break (not included), you will have an option to swim for a bit before you proceed to the village of Tihany. You will drive to Tihany Peninsula, a magnificent nature reserve at Lake Balaton. Admire the most amazing view of the lake from Abbey Hill in Tihany village then discover the inner lake and lavender fields. After this, you will return to Budapest where the tour ends in the city center.

Spend the day in the lovely landscapes of Central Europe’s largest freshwater lake on a full-day tour of Lake Balaton. Depart from Budapest and travel by air-conditioned bus to the beautiful town of Balatonfüred. Located on the north coast of Lake Balaton, the town is famously referred to as the capital city of the lake. You can experience an overview of city first by taking a short trip by “nostalgia train” around the area as well as a 1-hour cruise on Lake Balaton. Afterwards, you will have some free time to take a stroll along the picturesque promenade and enjoy some lunch (not included). Later on, drive to the “Tihany Peninsula” to see why it was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The area is rich with architecture and vineyards that produce excellent quality wine. Get a unique view of Lake Balaton from the hilltop before going to the Abbey of Tihany, founded in 1055 by the Hungarian King “András”. Transfer back to Budapest by air-conditioned bus, the tour ends at Hotel Intercontinental Budapest.

This 9-hour tour from Budapest takes you on a discovery of Lake Balaton. You will drive to the largest freshwater lake in Central Europe, and see the abbey founded in 1055 on the Tihany Peninsula. After a lunch break and some leisure time you'll go to Balatonfüred, home to the oldest spa in Hungary, where you can walk along the famous promenade then take a boat ride on the lake. At the end of the tour you'll return to Budapest.

Arriving to the lake we take you to a spot which has one of the best panoramas at the lake. The city Balatonfüred was always beloved by artists and writers and for good reason; the pretty promenade and beautiful villas and mansions will very likely steal your heart.  Upon arrival, experience the beauty of the peninsula up close. Thanks to the special attributes of its landscape, its geological idiosyncrasies, its diverse flora and fauna, it was the first designated protected area in Hungary. Tihany is both a gorgeous peninsula on the lake, and the a lovely, quaint, historic village on the peninsula. At the top of the village, a church and a monastery were founded as early as nine centuries ago. We have an option here to visit the church and the exhibition about the history of the region and the Benedictine monastery, where they keep the oldest Hungarian written document (which is almost 1000 years old). At the end of the day, marvel at the beauty of the lake on a scenic, 10-minute ferry ride from the Tihany peninsula. After that you will be driven back to your hotel in Budapest.

Join us at a Wednesday evening concert featuring the gems of centuries of organ music. Come to relax and experience the beauty, passion, and uplifting nature of perfectly written classical music performed by great musicians. Varied solo organ or chamber music concerts are offered in the series depending on the date of your visit. Pieces composed by Bach, Dubois, Franck, Handel, Liszt, Mendelssohn, Mozart or Vivaldi have all been selected to provide visitors with quality entertainment and lasting experience. The creative director and main organist of the series is Miklós Teleki, who is an excellent, award-winning Hungarian musician giving about 100 recitals a year. The artist plays a Baroque and a Romantic programme alternating weekly and are followed by chamber music events. Guest musicians include two excellent and recognised opera singers, Nóra Ducza (soprano) and Kolos Kováts (bass), you can listen to the award-winning Márk Fülep playing the flute on three occasions, and you can meet another great organist - Tamás Lozsányi - at one recital. You will get a quick overview about different boards and paddles and what equipment is best for you. Choosing the right size SUP board and paddle is essential. Before you hit the water, you will learn the first steps on a simulator. From starting in a kneeling position, getting up and finding the right stance and position on your board, to the correct handling of your paddle. After practising those things on the beach you will learn how to carry and launch your SUP. The rest of the time you will practise those learned things on your board with your instructor assisting you. After an hour with the instructor, you are ready to paddle on by yourself into the National Park right next to our SUP centre. The program consists of one hour lessons with instructor and one hour of independent paddling.

Enjoy a relaxing day of sailing on Lake Balaton, one of the largest lakes in central Europe. Visit Tihany Peninsula, famous for its beautiful views of Lake Balaton. Make stops at the Benedictine Abbey and Tihany Village to explore the history of the area. Be picked up from your accommodation in Budapest and head toward the Tihany Peninsula, where you will make stops at the fishing village of Tihany and the Benedictine Abbey. Explore Tihany itself, and admire the authentic thatched-roof houses of the local fisherman in the village. See the Benedictine Abbey, and learn about its long history while looking at its medieval architecture. Wander through Tihany, taste lavender ice, or wine, and pick up some traditional pottery from local shops as a souvenir. Try a delicious Hungarian lunch and admire the beautiful landscapes and views of the area before returning to your hotel in Budapest.
