From Nairobi: TRIP TO MOUNT LONGONOT NATONAL PARK

From Nairobi: TRIP TO MOUNT LONGONOT NATONAL PARK

Your adventure begins with pickup you from your Nairobi hotel/residence at 6:00AM. After driving for approximately 1 hour, you will begin the ascent at 6,000 feet. Like all good uphill hikes it will lull you into a sense of false security with a slow gentle rise to the first peak. This will give you the chance to get your lungs and limbs freed up for the second section, which is the best section. At the end of each section there is a rest point where you can prepare yourself for the next part of your journey. You will have started early to avoid the heat of the sun, but by the time you reach the end of the second section you will have generated plenty of your own heat. This hike is not an easy hike, but is achievable by people of average fitness. Your guide will accompany you all the way to the top. The whole tour is only about 8–9 kilometers long but very steep, so that the round-trip from the park gate to Longonot Peak takes around 4 hours. At the conclusion of your tour you will have an optional visit to Lake Naivasha for a sunset boat ride to see hippos, before your return drive to Nairobi with drop-off at your hotel or airport.

Later at 4:00 PM depart for a 2-hour game viewing drive in the Mara Reserve until 6.00 PM. Return to the camp for a sumptuous buffet dinner ending with a good time for resting at the camp. Dinner and overnight at Lenchada Touristic Camp or similar https://lenchadatouristcamp.com/ Day 2: Full-Day Game Drive in Maasai Mara Reserve Early breakfast at 6:30 AM and depart for a full-day game viewing. This is the annual migration of millions of wildebeest and zebra from the Serengeti (in Tanzania) in search of water and pasture. Following on their heels are the predators of the savanna – lions, cheetahs, jackals, hyenas, and vultures. Dinner and overnight at Lenchada Touristic Camp or similar https://lenchadatouristcamp.com/ Day 3: Depart Maasai Mara to Nakuru You will have breakfast at the camp and thereafter commence a drive to Nakuru to arrive there in the late evening and check-in and overnight at Lanet Matfam/similar http://www.lanetmatfamresort.co.ke/ Day 4: Nakuru to Nairobi You will have an early breakfast, check out, and depart by 7:00 AM straight to the park. The guide (Sammy) was friendly, helpful and had the patience of Job (a book in the Bible) When a member of the group was uncooperative he handed the situation perfectly, Sammy knew the ins and outs of the park, which increased our chances of seeing many of the big cats. He was also always punctual. I would recommend him as a guide to anyone that wants a safe and an excited experience.
