Afterward set off to discover the old palaces, churches, emblematic neighborhoods, the people of Porto, and the most picturesque corners that the city has to offer.

The Segway Tour was great! Valter was an amazing tour guide with lots of knowledge about the city and good bants- very enjoyable experience and would 100% recommend!

  • Porto: Guided 3-Hour Best of Tour by Segway

    2. Porto: Guided 3-Hour Best of Tour by Segway

Explore Porto from the vantage point of a self-balancing Segway on this tour, and glide along historic streets to see the city’s main attractions. After a brief training session on the self-balancing vehicles, follow your guide and head towards the Miragaia neighborhood; location of Porto’s ancient walls. As you tour, your guide will describe Porto’s origin as a pre-Roman settlement, talk about Roman times, and how Portugal was reconquered from the Moors in 868, restoring the city of Portucale. See attractions such as Clérigos Tower, the bell tower of the Baroque Igreja dos Clérigos (Church of the Clergymen); once Portugal’s tallest structure. See the metal span of Dom Luis Bridge over the River Douro, and admire the magnificent Romanesque Cathedral (Sé do Porto), towering over the city’s historical center point.

Our 3-hour Segway tour was FUN, pleasant and informative. After getting the hang of the Segways (easy!) and realizing the Portuguese are very polite about letting Segway riders use the sidewalks, we learned so much about the history and current culture of Porto. You do use some balancing muscles in your legs that might not have been worked much recently, so don’t be surprised if you feel a little sore afterwards. But the fun was well worth it. After leaving Porto we are headed to Lisbon and will likely employ a Segway tour there as well.

Stephen for the WIN! Stephen was my tour guide and total joy for the day! That kid is knowledgeable, kind patient, smart and funny. He taught me how to ride the Segway and helped guide me when I needed it. He is all about safety and talks to you like a friend. The tour was a great way to see the city. He even gave me tips about restaurants. Keep this guy on the payroll!

The experience is AMAZING! I highly recommend to do it for anyone visiting Porto. Just being on the Segway itself is already fun, but also the astonishing views on the way make this tour one of a kind. The guidance was also very entertaining and informative, only fun facts.
