Reunion Island: Salazie Sightseeing tour with driver guide

Tips before booking: Our schedule is very changeable, please contact us before booking to ensure availability. 8:00 a.m.: Departure Then, let’s take the car and go to Salazie Cirque, in the East of the island. You will be amazed by the waterfalls, the green tropical vegetation, the mountains, and of course the charming little Reunion villages! 10:00 a.m : We have a stop at Salazie village nestled in the green hills: it gave its name to the cirque. You will appreciate its flowery square as well as its famous church. Then, let’s contemplate the waterfall of the “Bridal Veil Falls” (Voile de la Mariée). You will be able to discover its legend that inspired this romantic and mysterious name. Let’s now stop at the “Water Chicken Lake”: a short walk takes you to a pretty little lake reflecting the distant mountains: fish and water hens live there peacefully! Let’s now stop at “Point du Jour” where you can admire a magnificent panorama over a large part of the Salazie Cirque. We arrive now in Hell-bourg, a peaceful place ranked among the most beautiful villages in France. You can walk in the middle of beautiful and typical Creole style houses. This village was once very popular with the Reunion Island upper class, who appreciated its quality of life and its sweetness. Visit to do on the spot: the Folio House, a typical Creole style residence with its charming garden. (visit with entrance ticket) 12:00 p.m.: Lunch will be in Hell-bourg. Many local restaurants are present: traditional Creole meal will be proposed to you! At the beginning of the afternoon, we leave the cirque and go to an emblematic waterfall of Reunion: the Niagara waterfall! It gets this name because in the rainy season, its flow can be torrential, like the famous falls in the United States! * Option : vanilla plantation. The guided tour of the plantation will allow you to appreciate the know-how of passionate professionals. Bourbon vanilla is considered as one of the best vanillas in the world and remains an emblem of Reunion Island. If you choose this option, the duration of the day will be 9/10 hours. We then return calmly back to your hotel or residence. 3:30 p.m.: End of the tour Tips for the journey: In Réunion Island, the weather changes very quickly, the temperature can be cool in the mountains (we often go higher than 1500m), it's necessary to prepare following things for different situations: Protection against the sun and the rain (coat, hat, sun glasses, umbrella...), sweaters and pants in case, closed shoes (like sneakers).
