Beirut

Explore every nook and cranny of Beirut on this wonderful hop-on-hop-off bus tour. On this day trip, start with a visit to Jeita Grotto. You will enjoy a scenic cable car ride up to the upper cave; then, after exploring, you will take a train ride down to the lower cave where you will take a boat ride through the river cavern. Afterwards, you will visit the statue of Our Lady of Lebanon, Harissa, which overlooks the Jounieh Bay and offers panoramic views similar to that of Rio de Janeiro’s statue of Christ. Take another cable car ride up in order to go up to Harissa. End the day at Byblos, one of the oldest still inhabited cities in the world - dating back to 8000 years B.C. Walk through the old souq, visit Byblos Castle, go past the Fossils Museum, see Byblos' old port, and admire St Jean Marc Church. Please note Jeita Grotto and cable car are closed on Mondays.

First We will Visit Aaqoura Lakes, and go on a short hike up the hill to get a panoramic view of the breathtaking Aqoura lakes. (Duration 45 Minutes) Later we will head to Baatara Gorge Waterfall, or as it is also known Balou’ Bala’a, The waterfall drops 255 meters (837 ft) into the Baatara Pothole, a cave which goes back to Jurassic times, it’s an extraordinary sight ‘discovered’ in 1952 formed by millions of years’ worth of limestone erosion. Afterwards we’ll visit Mseilha Fort which is built on a long, narrow limestone rock by Emir Fakhreddin II in the 17th century to guard the route from Tripoli to Beirut. We’ll Climb to the top, and explore the surrounding area of the fort. Lunch stop will be at a local restaurant: (Duration 1 hour) Our Last Visit will be Batroun old souk & the port, overlooking the old harbor / fishermen’s port and the Maronite Saint – Stephan (mar estephan) (achieved at the beginning of the 20th century). It is one of the biggest and most beautiful churches of Lebanon.

We will start exploring the amazing limestone caves of Jeita Grotto, stalactites and stalagmites, enjoy a boat ride before visiting Our Lady of Lebanon, Harissa by taking the cable cars and enjoying the stunning panoramic views over Beirut and Jounieh Bay. Last stop is a guided tour to the ancient Phoenicians city of Byblos, discover the Citadel where the Phoenician alphabet has been invented, walking through the old souk before enjoying a delicious traditional Lebanese lunch by the sea.

Venture out from Beirut and discover the cities of Baalbek and Zahle as well as the Chateau Ksara winery. Explore Baalbek which hosts two of the largest and grandest Roman temple ruins: the Temple of Bacchus and the Temple of Jupiter. Enjoy a traditional Lebanese brunch in Zahle, the largest city in the Beqaa Valley, and discover the Ksara Caves, one of Lebanon’s oldest and most famous wineries with an expert guide.

Lunch stop at a local restaurant: Duration 1 hour Last visit Maghdouche church, where Virgin Mary used to wait for Jesus Christ when he preached near Saida. Leave Beirut and visit Sidon and Tyre on a day tour. Explore Tyre's Christian Quarter, see the historic Our Lady of Mantara, and discover the old souks of Sidon with a private guide. On your way back to Beirut, stop in Maghoduche to visit Our Lady of Mantara, also known as Our Lady of Awaiting. Learn about this sacred site, believed to be where the Virgin Mary waited for Jesus when he visited Sidon.

Begin with a pickup at your hotel. Drive to visit the Roman Quarry, and see an ancient stone block that is among the largest monoliths ever quarried. Afterwards, visit Baalbek and a museum in a tunnel. Baalbek is one of the most famous cities in Lebanon, known for its history, fascinating traditions, sunny weather, and the great heritage it left behind. Baalbek is also home to one of the most noble and well-preserved triad of Roman temples ever built, dedicated to and named after Jupiter, Bacchus, and Venus. You will make a lunch stop at a local restaurant before returning to Beirut.
