Nydri

Departure from harbour Nidri at 09.15 Set sail on a full-day boat cruise to explore Greek islands and beaches with plenty of stops to swim in the crystal-clear Ionian sea. Step on board a comfortable large cruiser in Nydri in the morning and enjoy a day which includes free time on Kefalonia Island and a stop at historic Papanicolis Cave. Begin your tour at Egremni beach. Enjoy your first swim stop of the day on this famous beach. Next, it's back on the boat to move onto Porto Katsiki for some pictures and swimming while moored offshore. Throughout your day, make use of the ship's onboard bar. Continue your journey to the seaside village of Fiskardo on Kefalonia island. Enjoy some free time to stop for lunch (own expense) and explore the scenic alleyways of this authentic village. After the lunch break, get back on the boat to head to your next swim stop at Afales Beach at Ihaca island. Be taken next to Papanicolis Cave at Meganisi Island and learn all about the submarine which hid there during World War II. Continue back to Nydri with a final swim stop in sight of the billionaires' island of Scorpios.

We depart from Nidri harbour on the east coast of Lefkada island and we will cruise down the Meganisi channel in the morning sun. First, we will visit EGREMNI BEACH for swimming for around 2 hours. The boat will take you out on the beach. Then we will have a stop at the PORTO KATSIKI for around 1 hour swimming from the boat. The Boat will stay on the ancor and there are stairs to go into the sea. Final stop will be either on the AGIOFILI or LAKKA BEACH for 1 hour afternoon swim. Agiofili beach is a medium size beach and now it is easily reachable by car. In case it is full and there is no place for out tourists to enjoy a relaxing hour on the beach then we select LAKKA beach especially on high season. LAKKA is a beautiful beach reachable only by sea with crystal clear water for a relaxing afternoon swim out on the beach. So, with this boat trip we have the chance to combine and visit 3 beaches of Lefkas island with crystal clear water where the access with the car is either difficult or not possible. This experience requires good weather. If it’s canceled at least one day before it starts due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund. If the weather condition changes during the cruise, then the cruise will be continued towards other reachable beaches. The cruise is only for swimming. The beaches are pristine and not organized.

Cruise from Nidri to islands of Lefkada, Kefalonia, and Ithaki for a day filled with swimming at world-class beaches, exploring a fishing village, and seeing a mysterious private island. Depart from Nidri in the morning and sail through the bay past hillside villages like Vasiliki. Travel to the southern tip of Lefkas island. Stop to swim in the turquoise waters of Porto Katsiki and Egremni beach. Continue to the fishing village of Fiskardo on Kefalonia which survived the catastrophic earthquake of 1953. Have some free time to shop, stroll through alleys, or have a drink at a seaside café or bar. Head to island of Ithaki for more swimming. Ride into Papanikolis’ cave, where a submarine lay hidden during the 2nd World War. View the island of Scorpios, a private island that is shrouded in tragedy. Pass by Madouri or Poet’s island on the return trip.

Depart from Nydri Harbor on the east side of Lefkada Island. Grab a coffee or a morning snack (not included) from the boats bar as you cruise towards the first morning swim. Stop at the Cave of Papanikolis which is the second largest sea cave in Greece. Cruise all the way inside the cave for a memorable morning swim. Continue towards Meganisi Island and the village of Spartochori. Admire the beautiful scenery of the area and take in the majestic rock formations of the island. Step back in time in Spartochori village and see how the locals have maintained their old ways of living. Explore the old, narrow streets and spot the charming little backyard gardens. The village sits on a hill, so make sure to take in the spectacular views of the surrounding area as well. If you get tired of walking around, relax on one of the two picturesque local beaches. Return to the boat and cruise to Gerakas beach on the mainland of Greece. Enjoy plenty of free time for sunbathing and swimming in the crystal clear waters on the secluded beach. You can also practise your jumping skills from the boat at the beach stops! During the beach break savor a delicious BBQ lunch served right on the beach. With your stomach full on your way back home, stop for one more swim on the famous "Onassis Island". Hear a little bit of history of the rich and the famous people who have stayed on the island. Enjoy some fresh seasonal fruits and a local appetizer with a drink on the return trip. Finish off your tour back at Nydri Harbor.

Take a dip in the water, try local food, and admire stunning views as you sail along. Meet your captain and board the sailboat to have a cup of coffee with a view of the bay. Leaving Nydri behind, reach your first stop, a secluded beach. After spending time swimming in the warm waters come back on board for an optional breakfast. Continue on to another nearby island to enjoy more swimming in turquoise waters. Admire the natural beauty of the islands and try to spot dolphins and seals following the boat. Have the opportunity to snorkel, take pictures or relax under the sun on the beach. When you are ready for lunch come on board and enjoy a complimentary drink and delicious local cuisine served by the friendly crew. After the meal, sail to the last stop of the cruise. If weather permits, raise the sails so that you feel the freedom of sailing with the wind. As you soak in the beautiful scenery enjoy your afternoon coffee and some fresh fruit before you return to the port of Nidri in the early evening.

You will hear the amazing history and the boat will go right inside the cave where you can take photos. Second stop will be for a morning 30 minutes swim in the crystal clear waters of the tiny, deserted island "Formekoula" which it is called the home of our mediterranean seals. A perfect place for our first swim and snorkeling from the boat. Just a few kilometres southeast of Meganissi, Kastos is the ultimate Ionian Island hideaway, blessed with lovely beaches, peace and quiet, and a deliciously simple way of life. Measuring just 8km from north to south, and less than 1km from east to west, Kastos is a little gem of a place, inhabited by around 50 permanent residents only. The boat will anchor in the picturesque harborside village where you have free time for 1 hour and 30 min for lunch, drinks on the harborside cafes, or walk up to the old windmill with beautiful views and stroll around alleyways of traditional stone built houses. Departing the village, we continue on one of the unspoilt beache of Kastos "Limni" for 1 hour swimming. The boat will take you out on the beach. Perfect place for snorkeling. Next stop will be on the island of Kalamos. Kalamos island is almost entirely covered with pine trees and has some of the most spectacular beaches in the region. We will stop at "Asprogiali" beach for an afternoon swim. On the way back, we head towards Scorpios & Maduri Islands for a guide tour.

Our cooking class starts with a welcoming morning coffee and tea. We start the fire in the wood burning oven and we begin to knead our dough. We then walk around Lefkada Micro Farm to harvest vegetables for our lunch and learn how our food grows. Get to know our trees, our vegetables and our animals. By the time we get back to the kitchen the oven is already hot and ready to bake our loaves. We prepare the vegetables for the Briam (roasted mixed vegetables) and place it in the oven. By the time the main dish is cooked we’ve already prepared the Greek salad and Tzatziki using the freshest vegetables, goat cheese and traditional sheep yoghurt from small local dairies. Finally, we sit together in our open air kitchen and enjoy what we’ve prepared.. An opportunity to take a break from the blue of our beautiful island and go green – enjoy the peaceful Greek countryside and off the tourist beaten beaches. Interact with fellow visitors and create a nutritious and delicious lunch together. Harvest organic vegetables of the highest quality and learn to prepare the iconic Greek dishes we all love.
