As the home of the Greek King, Odysseus, Ithaca is stepped in Greek mythology ready for you to discover! At the highest point of the island sits Kathara Monastery, which provides the perfect setting for you to take incredible photographs of the whole island before we head down to the idyllic town of Stavros; a typical village where you can truly appreciate the local charm of this amazing island, where it appears that time stood still. Some of the sights in Stavros are the beautiful church of Sotiras which stands in the central square of the village and the archaeological museum. From Agia Efimia: Day Cruise to Ithaki Island with Lunch

From Agia Efimia: Day Cruise to Ithaki Island with Lunch

This is one of the best Semi-Private Cruises from Kefalonia to Ithaca departing from Agia Efimia port, on a modern sailing yacht, skippered by an experienced captain who has sailed many nautical miles, and will share some of the most beautiful places in Ithaca. With a full day ahead, we meet at 8:50 am outside of the yacht which is moored at the beginning of the picturesque harbour of Agia Efimia, to spend a gorgeous full day sailing aboard a sleek and comfortable sailing boat. An experienced crew is dedicated to making you have an unforgettable sailing experience around the most beautiful spots in Ithaca. Your day starts with a long sail toward the east of Ithaca, having a first swim stop at ''the paradise on earth'', called Gidaki Beach, where you can snorkel in its crystalline blue-green waters, and have a snack/ drink at the end. Gidaki is considered by many people the best beach in Ithaca, while it is often ranked among the best beaches in Greece! The turquoise blue waters and the natural landscape with the scenic, lush vegetation impress every visitor. It's a pebbled beach with larger pebbles on the western side and smaller ones on the east. The bay is open and ideal for swimming from one side to the other. As soon as we leave another highlight stop awaits, Skinos Bay Beach, where we prepare our lunch which is served on board along with soft drinks, beers, and local wine. Skinos is the bay to the east of Ithaca, with the homonymous beach. It is surrounded by pine trees and the scenery is breathtaking. After lunch, we will set course towards to the south coast of Ithaca and Talaros Beach (Pera Pigadia Bay) is our last selected spot for the day. The waters of Pigadia's Bay are calm, warm, and smooth, ideal for swimming. Once we have taken our fill of this little gem of Ithaca, we sail back to Agia Efimia arriving at the port around after 17:00. If you are also lucky enough, you can even see dolphins, sea turtles as well as rare migratory birds cruising alongside our boat. Please be assured we always pick the best places to visit, swim and snorkel according to weather conditions. If the captain suggests so, we may alter this route to give the most pleasant experience possible based on the current winds and the weather conditions at that time.

There were only six passengers, no music, no loudspeakers, and the trip was brilliant. Our captain, Evangelus, was courteous, friendly and looked after us very well. There was enough space on the boat for all of us (under the awning and on the front). We were given a delicious snack and lunch, with all kinds of cold drinks on offer. This was a lovely day out, helped by glorious weather. Highly recommended.

Our Canadian-Greek guide was amazing, she was entertaining and informative. She really made our trip to Itaca special. Our coach driver ‘Denis’ mananged to cafefully navigate the coach through the narrow streets and hairpin bends on the island with great skill and care. If you have only one day to see Ithaca, I can’t think of a better way to see it.

Well organized trip. Beautiful views and sites. Very well and detailed beautiful explanations. Great driver and guide.
