Get picked up from your accommodation in Mindelo and head out of the city for an exciting day of exploring more of São Vicente! Let’s go sightseeing to our stunning coastal beaches, learn about our culture and daily lifestyle on the Villages of São Vicente. Take a scenic drive to the southwestern part of our Island, visit our busy fishing village and stretched out coastal beach of São Pedro / Santo André; see the village in action! Departing to Calhau, you will drive on the old cobblestone road; visit the agricultural Valley of Calhau where you will see and smell our Islands Traditional Farming activities, vegetation, animals, water wells, and old iron windmills, also home of Vulcao Viana. We will make a stop for lunch at the best restaurant on the Island. After lunch, we head on along the majestic coastal road of Praia Grande / Norte Baia, the coastline here is sweeping of majestic white sand dunes and black volcanic mountains, with gorgeous changing blue waters. At our famous beach of Baia das Gatas, enjoy a swim or dive off of the trampolim into the clear blue lagoon. Head to the town of Salamansa, this is a charming, lively fishing village; people are busy here with the day to day lifestyle, and always happy to welcome guests! Also at Salamansa you will find our windsurfing, and kitesurfing activities, along with charming local places to stop for a refreshing beverage on the beach. Last, but not least, Monte Verde, 774m or 2,539ft, the highest point of Sao Vicente, at the summit we will enjoy a cup of locally grown tea or coffee at the Tea House, while taking in the spectacular views of the Island; On a clear day you will see the Islands of Santo Antão, São Nicolau, Santa Luzia, Ilhéu Raso and Branco - Mindelo and the Coastal beaches are stunning from the top! Return to Mindelo after a fantastic day of exploring the best of São Vicente!

Starting from Mindelo, this full day trip includes most highlights of São Vicente Island. Explore Mindelo, the capital of the island, known as the most welcoming and attractive city in the country. Walk through the colonial buildings, visit its church, municipal and Afrikan markets, and enjoy a panoramic view of the capital from the top of Fortin.  Drive to the eastern part of the island where animals, endemic plants and farmland can be seen along the Calhau Valley. Here, take time for a delicious lunch in a local atmosphere, and enjoy the local cuisine. Next, visit the fishing village of Salamansa, Baía das Gatas, and pause for a swim at its beautiful beach before heading to the sand dunes brought by the wind from the Sahara Desert. Finally, drive to Monte Verde Natural Park and admire the stunning scenery of the entire island and, weather permitting, take stunning photos of other Cape Verde islands.

The excursion begins at our sales point. After completing the administrative formalities (submitting a copy of your driver's license and signing the liability waiver), the guides will give an introductory briefing on road safety measures and driving to prevent accidents and mishaps. A guide will lead the tour at the front of the group of quad bikes in a "tourist convoy" mode. The excursion starts heading north, leaving from Mindelo and following dirt roads. Above Mindelo, from the viewpoint, you'll have the best views of the city, Monte Cara, and Praia da Laginha. The tour continues along coastal trails until reaching the fishing village of Salamansa, where you can admire the breathtaking landscape of the long, white sandy beach and the incredible cliffside overlooking the sea. The tour proceeds along a coastal trail to Baía das Gatas, where you can enjoy the warm, crystal-clear water of the bay for a refreshing swim and a drink. You’ll continue driving along the coastal trails, where you’ll be amazed by the coastal scenery and the deep blue ocean. In Calhau, you'll visit the fishing village and marvel at the unique rock formations of the region, enjoying the view of the extinct Viana Volcano. Continuing to Ribeira de Calhau, you'll be able to appreciate the local crops and the island's interior. On the way back to Mindelo, you'll get to know the colonial architectural style of the colorful city buildings and the bustling fish market. Finally, you'll visit the famous Praia da Laginha, located in the city center. The tour ends with your return to our shop in the city.

Get picked up from Porto Grande, we will be waiting for you at the exit/entry gate (about a 5+ minute walk from ship). Meet your local guide and depart to our Islands Old Fort, Fortim del Rei where you will have a phenomenal view of the Bay City of Mindelo and Laginha Beach. Take a stroll through the city where you will see and hear about the Islands history and culture. Visit the Cultural Center to see the current talent on display and the bustling markets* of Mindelo (Closed on Sundays). Take a scenic drive to Monte Verde, 774m or 2,539ft, the highest peak in Sao Vicente, here you will observe the greenest and most fertile place on the island, as most of it is claylike, you will have the opportunity to take wonderful pictures of the breathtaking panoramic views of the city and beaches that outline the outskirts of the island. Head to the town of Salamansa, this is a charming fishing town, which we feel many have forgotten, the people are always happy to welcome guests, there is also a beautiful church nestled on a small hill right on the beach, picture perfect! Really, there is no bad place to take a picture and make memories here! Visit the beach of Baia das Gatas Here you may take a swim in the clear blue lagoon. Drive on the most beautiful coastal road of North Baia, a small community, the beach here is sweeping of majestic white sand dunes. Calhau is a small farming and fishing village also home of Vulcao Viana, an extinct volcano. Head to Valley of Calhau where we will see vegetation, animals, waterwells, windmills, and traditional farming. and old iron windmills. At the end of our excursion, we will return to Porto Grande.
