We continue to a popular stop on the tour at Granby farm, where a fika will be served (swedish coffee with pastries). We continue to the charming town of Sigtuna, which was founded in the late viking era. Here, we'll explore the ruins of Saint Olaf church, the norwegian Viking warrior, who later converted to christianity and finally became an Saint. You will some private time to enjoy a lunch, shopping , wander through the town's picturesque streets or just relax. Next, stop is Gamla Uppsala (Old Uppsala) with all its famous burial mounds, which date back to the first centuries AD until the end of the Viking era. Visit the Venngarn castle, a 13th-century palace most famously owned by the Swedish nobleman Gabriel De La Gardie. Learn about De La Gardie’s fascinating life story from your knowledgable guide. Once one of the richest men in all of Sweden, De La Gardie suffered a tragic reversal of fortunes and ended his life in destitution.
