If you’re planning a visit to Helsinki, be sure to include a half day for a trip to Nuuksio National Park, located within the boundaries of greater Helsinki. It takes about an hour and a half by public transportation to reach the park from the city center. You’ll be met in the center of Helsinki, and travel by commuter train to Espoo center and then take a local bus to the park entrance. On the lake, we will walk in order to find the ideal place where there is the best chance of catching fish. I will then explain how to make a hole in the ice and how to use the pilkki. Then it's up to you! You will be ready to catch lots of fish! At the end, in a Laavu, the traditional refuge, I will make a fire to be able to grill the makkara, the traditional sausages. There is also an option for vegetarians. I will also serve you a delicious glögi as well as piparri, traditional cookies. We'll drive back to Helsinki center.
