Stop on the way at Tamatert, and take in sweeping views of ancient irrigation terraces for barley, corn, and vegetables. Admire cherry orchards and walnut trees before you reach the home of a Berber family in Ait Souka. Sip on a refreshing mint tea while savoring a traditional lunch in the home of a Berber family. Return by going down the other side of the valley through Taourirt and ride the van back to Marrakech at the end of the tour.

The adventure begins with pickup from your hotel in Marrakech or the closest accessible point to your accommodation. Head south towards the vast Agafay Desert, admiring the changing landscape along the way as the city gives way to luscious greenery. Arrive at the large village of Imlil located at the foot of the High Atlas Mountains, then pass through the incredible Kik Plateau. Next, embark on a 30-minute camel ride and soak up views of the surrounding landscapes. Your journey will take you past waterfalls and the hamlets of Ait Mizan, Targa, and Imoula. Stop off in Tamatert and have the opportunity to take in the views of ancient irrigated terraced fields of barley, corn, and vegetables, surrounded by cherry and walnut trees.  Your guide will point out things of interest and talk to you about the Berber culture and heritage along the way.  Travel down through the village of Ait Souka and afterwards enjoy a traditional Moroccan lunch in a Berber family guest house. Once you are rested, begin your return trip down the other side of the valley to Taourirt to board your vehicle. Go through the Moulay Brahim Gorges, before arriving at the main trailhead with streams and paths branching out in all directions. Here, enjoy a camel ride through picturesque landscapes. Finally, make your journey back to Marrakech, with drop-off in the early evening.

Challenge yourself to climb the highest peak in North Africa in 2 days. The tour starts and finishes in the vibrant city of Marrakech, and includes transport to and from Imlil. You will trek with a local English-speaking guide, a local cook, and mules to carry your luggage. This is a challenging walk rather than a climb, and anybody in good physical condition can reach the top. Make sure you bring your camera; the views from the summit are spectacular. Mount Toubkal 4167m is the highest peak in North Africa, and is a trekking peak involving no climbing but may involve walking in crampons or holding an ice axe for security (November to April). The itinerary has been designed for keen walkers, as the ascent is non-technical, but does involve some easy scrambling and snow slopes. After the first day spent trekking, you will stay at the refuge where you will spend the night, and enjoy Berber hospitality. After an early breakfast the next day, set off and reach the summit as the sun rises, rewarding you with amazing views. The views from the summit are amazing across the mountains to Marrakech to the north, and the start of the Sahara to the south. During the ascent you will be rewarded with stunning views of the Atlas Mountains, green valleys, and Berber Villages.

Arrive at Imlil and meet your trekking crew for the trip, then enjoy a refreshing mint tea to set you up for a day of exploring. With your guides, head out towards Azzaden Valley via the Tizi Mzik pass and marvel at panoramic views over the valley as well as several neighboring Atlas peaks. Savor some well-earned lunch at the top of the pass, so you can admire the views while you eat. Continue down the valley through the Juniper Forest to arrive at Tizi Oussem village. Spend the night at this traditional Berber site, meet the locals, and learn about their culture and way of life. Enjoy a delicious and authentic tagine dinner surrounded by the peaceful tranquility of the mountains. After breakfast on day 2, soak up the sunshine that lights up this colorful valley before heading out towards Id Issa village. Spend some time exploring then trek to Tizi Oudid mountain pass walking through Matat village along the way. Arrive at a serene walnut grove and enjoy a relaxing lunch next to the river. Finally, relax on the return journey to Marrakech, with drop-off back at your hotel in the late afternoon.

Day 1: Marrakech - Imlil 1740m - Tizi Mzik pass 2479m - Red Valley - Tamsoult Refuge 2550m After breakfast in Marrakech, pick up & drive towards the high Atlas Mountains via Tahnnaout, Oued Ghighaya & Asni, enjoy the stunning view of the villages along the valley . Arrival to Imlil (65km from Marrakech), meet the guide & multeer and then start the trek & climb Tizi Mzik pass (2479m), spectacular view over Imlil valley & Toubkal Summit, continue to Tamsoulte to visit the highest waterfalls in the Atlas Mountains (100m of hight) through juniper forest, Overnight at the Refuge, 5hrs walking. ( Imlil to Tamsoult - 11kms, up 800m and down 400m, 5-6 hours). Day 2: Tamsoult Refuge 2550m - Aguelzim Pass (3650) - Toubkal Refuge 3207m. Today is an intense day, in which we significantly increase the average altitude of the trek. Ahead of us we have the demanding ascent to the Aguelzim pass at 3450 m. The ascent is long but progressive. Once on the pass we will be able to admire the summit of Toubkal. We then descend towards the Toubkal base camp, at 3200 m. Walking time: 6h30. ( Tamsoult to Toubkal Refuge - 10 kms, up 1200m, down 300m, 6 hours ) Day 3: Toubkal Refuge 3207m - Toubkal summit 4167m - Imlil 1740m - Marrakech Up early for the climb up Toubkal (4,167 m) from where, clouds allowing, you will have wonderful views over the Atlas range and the Sahara desert. T hen a long way back down past the refuge and the well-worn path back to Imlil. This is a fairly long day with 8-9 hours of trekking, involving 900m up then almost 2,500 m back down to Imlil. You will normally be dropped off at around 5.00 pm in Marrakech. ( Toubkal Refuge to summit - 4 kms, up and down 980m, 5 hours Toubkal Refuge - 4 hours, down 1400m, 5 hours).

Day 1: : Marrakech – Imlil 1740m – Toubkal Refuge 3207m. You will be picked up from your accommodation in Marrakech, and drive towards Imlil valley from where you will start the trek. Once you are met by the local team, you will set off trekking in the valley of Aït Mizane, towards the village of Aremd then the sanctuary of Sidi Chamarouch and the nearby waterfall. Continue on steep paths to the Toubkal refuge, where you will spend the night at a refuge. (5-6 hours of walking) 2 Day 2: Refuge 3207m – Toubkal summit 4167m – refuge 3207m – Imlil 1740m – Marrakech. Start the day early to reach the summit of Jbel Toubkal, the highest point in North Africa. Cross streams and make your way through the rocks. Join the plateau and take a break to enjoy the breathtaking views of the surrounding area including the plain of Marrakesh and the High Atlas in the north, and the Anti-Atlas and the Sahara to the south Once you reach the summit, gently start the way back to the bottom of the mountain and to Imlil, then to Marrakech. Around 10 to 12h walk + 1h30 drive.
