Everglades National Park: Mangrove Tunnel Kayak Eco-Tour

Everglades National Park: Mangrove Tunnel Kayak Eco-Tour

The Everglades area is home to a vast and varied ecosystem containing the largest mangrove forest in North America. The unique Everglades lakes, surrounded by mangroves, are refuges and nursery grounds for herons, egrets, stilts, ducks, wood storks, spoonbills, alligators, otters, and a variety of cute little fish. The Everglades National Park Mangrove Tunnel Kayak Eco-Tour takes you inside the unique mangrove ecosystem in a stable "sit-on-top" kayak (no previous experience required). Weave through the interconnecting, narrow lakes and flowing tidal creeks. Float through tunnels in the mangrove forest, created by the dense mangrove growth up the edges and even over the tops of the interlocking creeks and narrow lakes. The mangrove tunnels make for a surreal and mystical experience with the sunlight shimmering through the canopy, the stillness of the forest vegetation and the sounds of the forest itself. Enjoy learning a wealth of information on the colorful local history of Everglades National Park and its wonderful wildlife and flora.

The best Tour in our Florida vacation. Seth, our guide, made a really great job ! We were only 4 people and that makes it even more comfortable. The communication was great, we had so much luck to see dolphins AND manatees. A little rest at a nice little beach with awesome shells rounded it up. We got photos for free from Seth, who saw the dolphins very close. No annoying money making or anything like that. We enjoyed it so much and we will come back next year :)

We had a great tour with Don, who is very knowledgeable and has a fitting story for every corner with an incredible amount of knowledge and attention to detail. There were alligators to see, some of which have names, birds of all kinds and fish. There was also plenty of flora. It is very important to use insect spray, otherwise you will get eaten, and sunscreen so you don't burn. Otherwise the tour is worth every cent - very exciting and educational.

Very good. Don McCumber is a very friendly guide. He answered all of our questions on site and was also able to give us recommendations for other excursions. He shared a lot of information about the flora and fauna.

Matt organized a wonderful kayaking tour. He prepared us well and we enjoyed our experience through the mangroves and learning the history of the eco system.

We saw Alligators at lrast 6 times during the tour. we were very close to them < 1 meter. Got great photos :-)
