Uxmal, Kabah and Chocolate Museum Tour From Merida

Uxmal, Kabah and Chocolate Museum Tour From Merida

Be amazed by the first stop at the archaeological zone of Uxmal through a guided tour that will help us discover the secrets of this wonderful place. We will walk through structures that highlight the Puuc style of the area, as well as containing mysteries and legends. Later we visited the archaeological zone of Kabah, known as the second largest religious center of the Puuc style. Declared a State Park since 1993. He translated it as "The lord of the strong and powerful hand." The last stop is the Choco Story, where the history of the ancient cacao is recovered: from its origin, distribution and uses around the world, to showing its ancient Mayan preparation methods, all in the company of a guide through various Mayan cabins distributed throughout the park. In addition to the tour of the museum, you can visit the botanical gardens with cacao trees, a meliponary, enjoy a live traditional Mayan ceremony lasting 15 minutes and complement it with a tour of the animal shelter, where you can admire endemic fauna that has been rescued (monkeys, deer, jaguars, crocodiles and birds). So much fun. Although it leaves early from Merida and involves 2-3 hours of driving roundtrip, the timing was great because it's cooler earlier in the day and we missed the bigger crowds at Uxmal that arrived just as we were wrapping there. Uxmal was interesting + I liked that our tour has a guided part and then also time to wander! We stopped at a delicious taco spot for lunch and our driver Sergio told us about the tasty foods that we should try. Also I really enjoyed the 2 cenotes, one was a semi-open cenote and the other was a mostly closed cenote. This was a great value tour with the ruins, tacos and 2 very different cenotes.

The guide was well prepared and she provided a lot of information about the two sites and the history of Mayan culture. The tour left us an amazing impression of the sites and we recommend this activity for sure. One small thing: it is better to bring something to eat for the day. the timing between activities are quite tight and the possibility to buy something are not much. Overall super excursion! thanks 👍

My trip to Uxmal and Kabah were amazing! Glendi was very knowledgeable and can only be described as a guide that loves her job. She made the trip amazing. Also a big thanks to Jose for getting us to our destinations safe! Highly recommended trip if you love Mayan history.

The guide was very informative and passionate about the history and culture of the places. Great mix of humor and facts. Great energy!

small group. would be more cost effective to include entry fees
