We arrived at the port at 9:30 AM for our 10:30 departure and found long lines however made it to Colonia only 15 mins late. The tour guide was fantastic! She spend good amount of time going over all the places and what to do once the tour is over so we didn't feel like any time was wasted after the tour ended at 2 PM. We had 3 hours to explore the city and get lunch. We bought tickets for the museums and it was some what worth it as most of the displays were not in English but that's our own limitation. The departure was at 6PM and we arrived at 5 PM to be met with super long queues and ended up departing around 6:20 PM but the ride itself was pleasant and we got great views of Buenos Aires to absorb so can't complain. We were on a 4-day trip to Buenos Aires and this was worth a day. If you are spending shorter duration in BA then this might be a bit of a stretch as it will take the whole day.

Colonia is a beautiful place, the people are friendly and this is definitely a great place to visit for the day! The trip sounds daunting with all of the ‘terms and conditions’ of timing and travel, but it was far easy than we expected. The ferry transfer goes quickly, the passport control is an understandable compliance exercise but again passes quickly. This is a good way to visit another country if you have a day ‘spare’ in Buenos Aires.

after our own lunch, we rented the electric golf cart for $19 an hour, so much fun!

Everything was good except of the dinner in restaurant “El refugio”.

Férreos were great, the tour at the winery was amazing
