This tour was great! The guide, she was amazing! It was raining really bad dodging the time of our tour but the guide took us out anyways and tried to keep us inside as much as she could. The tour took us on a route that covered all 3 major sections of the historic part of the city. We covered Sassi Caveoso, Sassi Barisano, and the chiamata where the Duomo sits above the city. We spent time inside one of the stone churches and a cave house. She was very knowledgeable and answered all our questions. She even took us into a restaurant that is completely underground so we could see how it was built into the caves and far beneath the city. Amazing! Even with all the rain, it was a very good tour.

We really enjoyed our tour with Gabry. He was flexible with the itinerary, we learned a lot about Puglia, he is a very good driver and simply a nice guy! We stopped in Altamura, known for its amazing bread and had focaccia fresh baked in an oven dating from the 1400s. We also visited Matera and toured a cave house, and finished the day with a visit to the beautiful town of Locorotundo. We highly recommend Gabry as your guide and driver in Puglia.

We loved this tour. Gaetano had so much to tell us about the Sassi and his passion for Matera and its history is clear. It is an interesting tour but he makes it fun too. Thanks Gaetano for bringing the Sassi alive for us.

the Tour was very convenient if you want to visit Matera and Alberobello in one day. The Tour Bus even waited for us at the meeting point even if we were a little bit late.

It was informative and entertaining and the tour guide did an excellent job of answering questions. It gave us a real sense of Matera.
