Moraig: Kayak Excursion to Moraig & Cave peces-testos

Moraig: Kayak Excursion to Moraig & Cave peces-testos

Our adventure will begin in the Moraig cove, a paradisiacal beach surrounded by the cliffs of Benitachell. It is one of the best known coves due to its spectacular panoramic view, its turquoise waters and its great underwater wealth, a corner of the Mediterranean much appreciated by divers and snorkelers. The best kept treasure of Poble Nou de Benitachell, Cala Moraig is that place where you can get lost and enjoy the sea. It is one of the most beloved coves of the Costa Blanca, you will realize when you get to know it, its particular gravel and turquoise waters will leave you speechless. During the activity we will visit the most magical places, among them is the Falla de Moraig, better known as the Cueva de los Peces, where we can swim through a hole that will take us to the center of the fault, there we will observe the water seems crystallized by mixing the water of the sea with the water coming from the mountains, as well as the great marine fauna that lives inside. We will also visit the cove Testos , where we will be told its centenary history and enjoy a swim. Lam Moraig cove is located in the center between Granadella cove and Moraira beach.

If you choose not to join the hike, you can continue enjoying Cala Moraig before returning to Valencia.

Moraira: Kayak trip from Moraira to Benitachell

Moraira: Kayak trip from Moraira to Benitachell

The trip at a glance... First section: Moraira to Llebeig Cove The route starts at Cala El Portet, in Moraira, where you'll be given a basic instruction on how to use the kayaks as well as all the necessary equipement for you to set off. Once on board, you'll set sail to the "Punta de Moraira", also known as Cap d'or. Approaching the "Punta de Moraira" you will also find the "Cueva de les Rates Penades (The Bat's Cave), where with a bit of luck you will be able to observe the two types of bats that inhabit it. Surrounding the Punta de Moraira, you will see that the Cap d'Or Tower crowns it, allowing you to enjoy marvellous views of the building and the cliffs that surround it. During the walk you can also see old fishermen's huts, stone huts that were used for fishing and shelter. You'll continue along the coast to enjoy the "Cala Pinos" until we reach the "Cala Llebeig", a wild cove with a unique charm, also with an exciting history that involves pirates, smugglers, fishermen, farmers and ranchers. It is here where yo'll leave the kayaks to snorkel, rest and have lunch, before continuing your journey. Final section: Llebeig cove to the Moraig Fault You'll continue towards Benitachell to enjoy the famous cliffs route from the sea, until reaching the Moraig Fault (Fish Cave), an impressive 70m high, almost vertical rock wall. Here you'll go inside through a cavity that will awaken your emotions and where you will enjoy the spectacular crystal clear water for snorkelling. Next, you'll visit the Cova dels Arcs, formed by a room with three impressive rock arches that emerge from the water and considered to be the exit to the sea of the longest underground water course in Spain. You'll pass through its arches, and then we will see the "Cala Moraig" and "Cala de los Testos". An ideal route for stopping, snorkelling and coasteering, as it is a relatively long route. That's why making a few stops, resting and combining it with other activities make the kayak route from Moraira to Cala Moraig one of the most complete.

From Valencia: Hiking Cliffs and Old Fishing Trails Moraira

We will walk from the starting point El Portet de Moraira - Cap d'Or - Cala Llebeig - Cala del Moraig - and end up at a Glamping Pool Bar. Beautiful excursion along the steep limestone coast between Moraira and Cala del Moraig. It is a very fun itinerary, especially from Cap d'Or to Cala Llebeig, with spectacular views of the entire coastline of the Marina Alta, from the Peñón de Ifach to the Cabo de la Nao. Once in Cala Llebeig, we will find a placid and delicate rock and stone beach. The houses and artificial dwellings in the rock give it a romantic aroma of times past, once occupied by fishermen and smugglers. We can take a refreshing dip here! After the break we will follow the very well marked and easy path to Cala del Moraig, which runs halfway below impressive limestone walls that make up the Cumbres del Sol. We will end our walk at a beautiful Glamping spot with a swimmingpool and a chill atmosphere. The first part is of medium difficulty because we have to walk over (steady) rocks. The second part from Cala Lleveig is considered easy for its perfect signage and wide path. Both paths are with spectacular views!

From Valencia: Coastal Cliffs & Beaches - Private Day Tour

Amazing coastal cliff walking route which is situated between two pristine beaches. The drive from Valencia to the coast takes 1 hr 20 mins and is between Javea and Denia. We start the cliff trail which is made 100 m above the sea with fantastic views of the Mediterranean. It leads to a rocky beach called Cala Llebeig. This beach can only be accessed by walking trails and so is more secluded than the other beaches in the area with road access. The trail has partially remaining stone walls providing refuges or caves within the cliff rock which were used by fishermen. After spending some time on the beach we head back along the cliff trail towards Cala Moraig beach which is surrounded by high cliffs and turquoise waters. This beach is with small pebbles. This beach has an interesting sea cave which you can discover. After the beaches you will be taken to a restaurant with cliff top views for some local food. Paella can be chosen. In May and October you might want to have a swim in the sea if it is a hot day. Bring swim wear. Level of difficulty of the hike is Easy, but there is a steeper part leading down to the beaches which you need to have a normal level of fitness.

Incredible day out - be prepared for the hills in the heat and they aren’t kidding when they say take lots of water with you! We went through almost 2 litres each! Gorgeous vistas, the sea was rougher than it usually is when we went but it was still glorious!

Kayaking with sufficient variation. Two stops on small pebble beaches. Swimming through a small cave. Snorkeling equipment, water and a small snack are provided on site. No changing rooms, so you have to take that into account. Superb guidance!

Marcelo and Simon's treatment was fabulous. The activity is not hard at all, so almost anyone can enjoy it. You don't need to be in top shape. There are breaks to enjoy a swim and the surroundings. 100% recommended.

Nice activity! Nice variation between kayaking and swimming/ snorkeling/ cave stop. Nice guide and tried to translate everything as best as possible to English for us.

a beautiful day with unforgettable beaches and a great hike through the mountains. A must for everyone. Bring lots of water!
