Spend a day trip traveling to Mt. Fuji, Japan's most famous symbol and highest mountain. Enjoy the view from the 5th Station before visiting the nearby resort town of Hakone, known for its onsen hot springs. Return to Tokyo by bullet train!

Spend some time away from the big city on this day trip to Mt. Fuji. Depart from Tokyo toward the mountain, the largest in Japan. You will be taken up to the 5th Station, located 2,300 meters (about 7,000 feet) above sea level, where you can enjoy the view. The Fuji Visitor Center displays nature, culture, and artwork related to the mountain, and is a great place to stop off at to learn more.

Next, indulge in a Japanese-style lunch at a local restaurant before heading on to the nearby resort town of Hakone, famous for its onsen hot springs. Board a sightseeing boat for a delightful cruise around Lake Ashi, where you will see plenty of scenic nature and have the ability to look back at the mountain you were earlier on.

After your boat tour ends, ride an aeriel cableway up and down Mt. Komagatake for a sweeping view of Hakone National Park, before returning to Tokyo via the Shinkansen bullet train. You will arrive in Tokyo in the evening, between 18:00 and 20:00.

  • Rating: 4 “Very nice”

Reviewed by Christopher from Toronto, Canada on October 22, 2014 This one day trip to Mount Fuji was convenient. Our guide Nanako was very friendly and knowledgeable. We had good weather in the morning and were able to see the top of the mountain. It was foggy in the afternoon so the cable car was closed. We went to a museum instead. The only issue at the museum. was that there were no information signs in English so it was hard to learn about the artwork.

  • Rating: 4 “Your guide Amy really was really very helpful.”

Reviewed by Margaret from Pasig City, Philippines on August 25, 2014 The places we went to were great but what really impressed me was how concerned your guide Amy was with each & every member of her group. When we ask her for help esp for directions to certain places, she went out of her way to really get an answer for us. To the very end at Shinjuku station where we parted after the Shinkansen ride, she waa on hand to help us when we had problems with our train ticket. Thank you so much Amy - we found our way with your help to St. Ignatius Church.

Reviewed by a GetYourGuide Customer from Cammeray, Australia on February 3, 2014 The full day trip is very worthwhile. Well organised and very easy. Good commentary along the way. Mt Fuji is well known, but Hakone was a ral surprise. Very pleased this trip included Hakone.

  • Rating: 4 “All in all recommended, but...”

Reviewed by Gerhard from Mörfelden-Walldorf, Germany on September 2, 2012 Regarding your description I (and others) assumed that the trip from Tokyo to Mt. Fuji would take place on a fast train. Instead of that it was a 2 hour drive there on a bus. The sights were exactly what I had expected. Only the stops at the different sights were very short. It would have been better if the trip had been with the Shinkansen as promised, then we would have had more time. All in all it was a day full of experiences. The organisation was perfect and the staff extremely friendly.

    Best regards,

    Gerhard Schumacher

Reviewed by Sergey from Moscow, Russia on June 21, 2012 The trip is organized at the highest level, the schedule holds. The guide was very friendly, not only formally gave a tour, but also helped us with tips. Lunch was delicious. Rainy and windy weather has limited our ability, but not taken away from us positive emotions. Thank you!

  • Rating: 3 “Mittelprächtig”

Reviewed by JOHANN MARTIN from NATURNS (BZ), Italy on October 11, 2014 Leider war der Fujisan in Wolken und Nebel behängt.

  • Rating: 2 “Langweilig!”

Reviewed by Daniela from Freiburg, Germany on June 2, 2014 die Tour an sich war ok.
