Spend a morning in Taormina learning how to cook delicious Sicilian food from a master chef. At the end of the class, participants enjoy the lunch they created along with wine.

Begin at 09:00 with a guided tour of the town's market, where the ingredients for the day will be bought fresh. The market is within walking distance from Il Melograno Restaurant, where the class is held.

Back at the restaurant, the chef will explain the dishes that your group will make. Then participants start preparing and cooking the food. A professional sommelier will be on hand to tell you and the others about the history and culture of wine in Sicily.

All explanations will be in English.

After all the food is prepared, you and your fellow classmates will get to taste what you have learned, accompanied by two selected wines, one white and one red. We will finish around 14:00.

Reviewed by Richard from Mt Juliet, United States on November 30th, 2012 My husband booked this tour, and I was hesitant, thinking cooking wasn't what I wanted to do on vacation. Was I wrong! Our chef was wonderful - he truly has a passion for cooking. He was patient, joyful, and an excellent teacher. He was a bit hard for us to understand, (we really had to focus), but after a while that became part of the charm of the whole thing. The trip to the market was fun and what we learned there we can use when choosing fresh foods here at home. We prepared several dishes in the dining room of his lovely restaurant (he had a table set up with a small gas stove and a century-old garden sink nearby - charming!) and after we were done, we sat and they served us the food we had prepared, along with a different wine for each course. The service was excellent, the wine delicious, and the food was so good I literally became giddy eating it. (I've never had food affect me that way before!) Anyway, it was just a WONDERFUL experience. HIGHLY recommended.
