Easy way to experience old and new cultural-mix of this huge city

The three Shanghai routes are a great way to see the French Concession and Bund/Nanjing Rd river area and then contrast this older area with the huge skycrapers and modern developments across the river in Pudong. Buses regular and easy to find, with excellent historic commentary. Only complaint: Labour Day lack of staff meant no-one to show the correct entrance for the river cruise so wasted an hour following a maze of alleyways below the Bund, being refused entry by officious harbour security!

Remember to take your coat if sitting in the open part of the bus!

Having used the Hop on, Hop off Bus in London, Paris & Dublin in 2011 we again chose to purchase vouchers for Shanghai. The staff at the office for exchange of the voucher for our tickets were MOST helpful & recommended several places we should visit. They spoke good english & made sure we boarded the correct bus for our 1st day of sight-seeing. The audio was detailed & gave a little of the history of the area as well as identifying current points of interest. We very much liked the helpful young lady at The Bund bus stop & thenk her for taking photos for us!! Maps were colourful & easy to use. The Temple Tour Route on the 2nd day again provided good stops though we had to wait quite a while in the heat for the bus to collect us at the end of our temple tour. Keep an eye on the tiime to make the most of your stops & avoid a lengthy wait like we did. Highly recommend this way to get around Shanghai.

Good way to go about the city.

Staff were friendly and informative. However, there were a few outlets that didn't work. The upper front window had no wipers so the view was hazy when it rains.

Good way to see the sights in Shanghai

Was a hassle free way to see shanghai. The only negative was had to wait quite a while for buses especially on the green route. Buses were good, commentary useful and plenty of staff at the stops to answer any questions.
