What to Expect

Satisfy your craving for adventure with this half-day Hvítá River whitewater canoeing trip from Reykjavík.

The beautiful Hvítá River is located just over an hour's drive from Reykjavík. The river has a perfectly balanced mix of serene canyons and adrenaline pumping waves and rapids. With tips and instruction from your guide, as well as support from the rafts, you will learn the techniques of self-guided river navigation while putting your skills and nerves to the test.

Your whitewater canoeing adventure on the Hvítá River takes you on a 7-kilometer (4.3-mile) journey through the unique lava canyons of Iceland´s beautiful wilderness. Along the way, you will pass through the magnificent Bruarhloo Canyon, where you can dive from a cliff and enjoy a refreshing glacier river swim.

Our inflatable canoes do not fill with water, and are easy to maneuver in the rapids: the ideal craft for an intimate whitewater experience. Two people can sit together in the canoe and steer, while your guide accompanies you in a kayak to ensure that everything is safe and sound.
