Explore some of Southern Africa's most rugged and scenic terrain on a 7-day tour from Port Elizabeth. Discover the town of Hogsback, cross into the Kingdom of Lesotho, and experience the Drakensberg Mountains before taking in the buzzing city of Durban.
Take off from Port Elizabeth airport and make your way to the charming village of Hogsback. Some of the original Afro-Montane Rainforest can be found here, as well as stunning waterfalls and even excellent trout fishing.
Your guide will also take you on a short hike through this picturesque area, where you will have to chance to go mountain biking, or take a high ropes course if you wish. Enjoy camping in this beautiful region, surrounded by indigenous forests.
Days 3 and 4: Lesotho and Malealea
On your third day, leave South Africa and enter the landlocked mountain kingdom of Lesotho.
The next day will get started early, and those going on the optional pony-trekking trip will ride into the remote hills of Lesotho accompanied by local guides. If you choose remain behind you can visit the local village or craft market, or go for a hike in the nearby mountains.
Days 5 and 6: Drakensberg, South Africa
The Drakensberg Mountains are South Africa’s highest mountain range and one of its most beautiful. Today you will explore the mountain paths and take in the breathtaking views offered in the Royal Natal National Park.
Later in the day, take a hike along the Tugela Falls if you wish, or try your hand at abseiling. You can even visit a nearby Zulu School Project for an immersion into the local culture.
Day 7: Kwa-Zulu Natal Coast and Durban
On your last day it’s all downhill as you leave the mountain scenery en route to the KwaZulu Natal Coastline, taking in beautiful views of the South African cape.
You will soon arrive in the bustling city of Durban, South Africa’s largest port and a popular surf destination. The tour will end here in Durban, but don’t forget to take this evening as a chance to sample some local Indian-influenced cuisine.
All tours are priced on twin share camping / accommodation. If you want your own tent / room, please book the single option. There are a maximum of 4 single places available on each tour.

We will not be travelling through a Malaria effected area.

Although groups smaller than 4 are very welcome, the tour does need a minimum of 4 participants in order to run so this may sometimes affect availability.
