Overview:

Spend the day in the breathtaking beauty of Croatia’s Dinaric Mountains on a 8-hour tour of Plitvice Lakes, and walk in forests of green. See the terraced lakes and waterfalls of crystal clear water flowing through a vast and lush environment.

Description:

Granted UNESCO World Heritage status in 1979, Plitvice is located roughly halfway between Zagreb and Zadar. Marked on old maps as the “Devil’s Garden,” the spectacular area consists of 16 interconnected terraced lakes, gushing over travertine rock covered in moss.

Departing from Zadar at 08:15, you will drive for about 1 hour and 45 minutes before reaching Plitvice National Park, home to diverse flora and fauna, including wild boar, wolves, and even bears!

Once at the national park, begin your 4-hour guided tour, visiting Upper and Lower lakes and enjoying the unspoiled nature of one of the most beautiful national parks in the world. Although you can’t swim in the protected lakes, your guide will show you the best places to explore and relax in this paradise of natural wonders.

Besides walking, sightseeing includes an electric boat ride on Kozjak lake. On your way back, eat lunch at a restaurant outside the national park (optional). Return to Zadar at around 18:00.

  • Rating: 4 “Fantastic guide and well organised trip”

Reviewed by a GetYourGuide Customer from London, United Kingdom on November 3, 2014 The lake itself was a great experience. Our guide, Daniela, was very friendly and the daytrip went on better I expected.
The only reason I did not give 5 stars, was the quality of the restaurant where we stopped for lunch. Not many options for people with dietary requirements. The 'zoo' at the restaurant is horrible, the animals are kept in squalid cages... I could not believe my eyes when I saw the bears...so sad!!!

  • Rating: 4 “Great place to visit”

Reviewed by Sarah from Manchester, United Kingdom on October 19, 2014 Definitely worth visiting Plitvice Lakes. Beware though it's pretty chilly over the other side of the hills! The guide was pretty good, although I found it quite difficult to hear what he was saying on the coach over the microphone, which reduced the impact of that bit of the tour. He was great when we got to the lakes though.

  • Rating: 4 “Very good trip”

Reviewed by a GetYourGuide Customer from London, United Kingdom on September 13, 2014 On the day we visited Plitvice it rained constantly. Despite this we had a good time and would recommend the trip to anyone. Everything ran punctually. The guide gave everyone free ponchos to help keep the rain off. The 10 euro breakfast and lunch deal is extremely good value (though don't bother if you're gluten-intolerant). I would've liked a bit more info about the park and its natural history, but I think the rain made talking to our group a little difficult and everyone wanted to get round more quickly. The park is clearly beautiful though I wish we'd been able to go on a nicer day!

  • Rating: 5 “Beautiful park”

Reviewed by Maria from Hanwell, United Kingdom on September 3, 2014 I loved the park. It was absolutely stunning. The tour guide was good but we felt a bit rushed and would have liked to stop more to enjoy the scenery. Also, it would have been useful to know that the climate is completely different because we were very cold and had to buy clothes in the gift shop....We even wondered if that was done on purpose to create revenue for the gift shop.

The dinner that was included was very good and we really enjoyed seeing the bears outside the restaurant!

  • Rating: 5 “Plitvice can't be missed if you're traveling to Croatia.”

Reviewed by a GetYourGuide Customer from Washington, United States on August 17, 2014 Plitvice is beautiful and definitely worth the trip. This tour provides an adequate amount of time to see most of the park.

The guide was very friendly and knowledgable about Croatia. On the way back to Zadar you stop at a traditional Croatian restaurant for a nice meal.

This is a must see for all visitors to Croatia.
