Take a ride from the desert floor to the pristine wilderness of the Mt. San Jacinto State Park on the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway. Enjoy views on your way up to restaurants, gift shops, a natural exhibit area, and 2 movies about the tram and the park.
The 2.5 mile (4 kilometer) ride from the Valley Station (elevation 2,643 feet, or 805 meters) to the Mountain Station (elevation 8,516 feet, or 2,596 meters) transports you from the warm desert sands to cool mountain air, with temperatures that are generally 30-degrees cooler than on the ground.
The tramway is the threshold of the 14,000-acre Mt. San Jacinto State Park, a natural place with some of the last pristine wilderness in Southern California. In the winter, try cross-county skiing or snowshoeing. Rental equipment is available at the Adventure Cether, snow conditions permitting. During the summer months, camping, guided nature walks, and 54 miles (87 kilometers) of hiking are available.
There are 2 dining options at the Mountain Station: Peaks Restaurant offers upscale contemporary cuisine with a spectacular view of the desert floor, and Pines Cafe is a cafeteria-style restaurant that offers a casual dining experience.
Also at the top are gift shops, a Natural History Museum, and 2 documentary-style movies on the history of the tramway and the Mt. San Jacinto State Park.
• Round-trip tram ride
Good to Know:
Temperatures at the Mountain Station are generally 30 degrees F cooler than the desert floor. It is a good idea to bring along a sweater in the summer and jacket in the winter.
The Valley Station, Mountain Station, and tram cars are handicap accessible.
Sorry, pets are not allowed.

“Best part of Palm Springs in the summer!”
Reviewed by Wendy from Sedona, United States on August 31st, 2014 This was a spectacular rid, well-run and safe. The park at the top is really special and you should go as early as you can and stay as long as you can or even camp overnight. I'm looking forward to going back in the winter for snowshoeing or skiing on the top of the San Jacintos! Bring your own food, if you can, but there is a cafeteria that is ok. Good fries.
“Well worth the trip”
Reviewed by a GetYourGuide Customer from Staines, United Kingdom on July 25th, 2014 Amazing views on way up, and nice nature trail with shade at the top. Great for children, and volunteer wardens really friendly especially with the children.
Excellent organisation, took only a few minutes to redeem the voucher, and we were on the next tram up.
His was the first time I had used GetYourGuide and I will definitely use them again (where I can save money)

“views are great”
Reviewed by David from Las Vegas, United States on March 24th, 2014 The aerial tram itself was great. It spins as you go up so views are fantastic wherever you end up in the cabin.
Booking online was easy, only annoyance was that you still need to stand in line with everyone else to exchange your voucher for a ticket. I thought the voucher was the ticket. No big deal if it's not too busy but can be a drag.
“Bought Palm Springs Aerial Tramway icket through them. Worked well.”
Reviewed by a GetYourGuide Customer from SAN DIEGO, United States on December 5th, 2013 Turned out I didn't need them since the crowd wasn't too bad but it was nice to have the voucher with me that guaranteed admission. Still needed to go to the counter to get it exchanged for a ticket for a specific time. I was happy with the outcome.
“The highlight of my birthday”
Reviewed by a GetYourGuide Customer from lawndale, United States on June 29th, 2013 This was the highlight of my birthday I took so many pictures and was amaze by the beautiful scenery. I would definitely recommend this.
“Awesome. But be careful if you tend to get altitude sickness.”
Reviewed by Michael from Woodland, United States on February 16th, 2013 This was a stunning ride. Go up in daylight and down after dark. That way you see the towers that hold the tram up and the stunning closeness to the rocky terrain. Then, you see the city lights below on your way back. We got a bit queesy from the altitude at first but recovered in time to have a great dinner at the restaurant at the peak. The large, expensive steak dinner is plenty for two. The Malbeck wine goes well with it. With two side dishes, wind and desert you will pay a bit over $100.00. There is a less expensive alternative place to eat if you want to do so.
Reviewed by Saheed from Irvine, United States on January 2nd, 2013 No issues with booking and availing the service. We reached early at 9:00 am. No wait time or hassle in getting the tickets from the reception.
Reviewed by Michele from Los Angeles, United States on August 25th, 2012 Very pleasant experience. The staff (in all depts) was knowledgeable, helpful, pleasant.
Nice improvements. The last time I was there was in 1982 and I had enjoyed it then.
I certainly will recommend this experience to everyone. Have a good day

“Tolles Erlebnis auf dem Berg mitten in der Wüste”
Reviewed by Kristina from Frankfurt, Germany on October 12th, 2014 Mit der Bahn geht es steil bergauf. Unten in Palmen Springs sind noch sehr heiße Temperaturen, oben auf dem Berg dann deutlich kühlere Temperaturen und eine glänzender Landschaft. Dieser Unterschied ist sehr beeindruckend.
