First stop is Ko’olau Mountains, where you'll see the Valley of the Temples including the fascinating Byodo Temple before reaching Laie Point to explore exotic tropical foliage.
Endangered bird species such as Black-neck stilts, Hawaiian coots and Moorhens can be seen at Kahuku as you tour a traditional shrimp farm. Hale O Lono, one of Oahu's best preserved ancient temples, is next. Situated inside the lush Waimea valley, this unique archaeological site is an excellent place to learn about native Hawaiian religion.
There is still time to spot adorable green turtles on the golden sands of Turtle Beach, visit historic Dole Planatation and drop into Haleiwa, a traditional village with a vibrant surfer's scene.
