Overview:

Tour the spectacular Great Ocean Road on an award-winning full-day trip from Melbourne. The small, personalized eco tours take in all the icons of the famous road trip, including the 12 Apostles. Enjoy free on board Wi-Fi as you travel.

Description:

Enjoy morning views of Melbourne city and Port Phillip Bay as you cross the Westgate Bridge, Australia’s longest bridge, at just under 1.5 miles (2.6 kilometers). You are embarking on one of the world’s greatest drives to tour the Great Ocean Road!

Pass through Victoria’s second largest city at Geelong, and make your way down towards the Surf Coast, with its enchanting beach side towns and powerful swells. At Bells Beach, stop to appreciate this world famous surfing break, and to immerse yourself in a bit of the local surfing culture.

The scenic journey along the Great Ocean Road takes in some truly amazing coastal scenery, with new views being revealed around every bend. You will make plenty of scenic stops, including a photo opportunity at the Great Ocean Road Memorial Arch at Eastern View.

Afterwards, follow the Great Ocean Road away from the water and into the mountains. Proceed through the spectacular Otway Ranges and stop to enjoy a stroll in the cool, temperate rainforest at Maits Rest.

Continue to Port Campbell National Park, with its iconic array of rock formations. Be awestruck by the majestic monoliths of the 12 Apostles. Your final sightseeing destination is the collapsed London Bridge, where 2 holiday makers were stranded when the first arch collapsed in 1990. A dinner stop is made on the journey back to Melbourne at the beautiful township of Colac, before enjoying a stunning view of the illuminated city as you cross Westgate Bridge on the way home.

  • Rating: 5 “great”

Reviewed by Roel from Groningen, Netherlands on October 1st, 2014 The tour was perfectly organized. Chris was a great guide. One really has to see the rocks at the ocean in real, photos do not give the complete picture. The rainforest was a real surprise, it was a highlight.

  • Rating: 5 “Very well organised trip to the Great Ocean Road”

Reviewed by Oliver from Brietlingen, Germany on October 1st, 2012 If you're in Melbourne and you have time, you shouldn't miss a trip to the Great Ocean Road.
And if you want to invest a couple more dollars you could take the chance to book a helicopter ride over the 12 apostles. It was a great experience, also the many stops on our drive down the Great Ocean Road.

  • Rating: 4 “All in all really nice tour”

Reviewed by a GetYourGuide Customer from Bad Pyrmont, Germany on September 30th, 2012 The Great Ocean Road is really very beautiful and should be seen. It was a good tour and the guide was also very experienced. The only shame was not stopping to take photos, especially when there were so many little areas to park and take really nice photos. On the way back to Melbourne we stopped in a small village again for 30 mins to eat at a fast food restaurant, that could have been left out.
