This 2-night tour takes you to the heart of the north Sumatran city of Medan, the 4th largest city in Indonesia and located in the shadow of the volcanic Mount Sinabung. You will explore its historic sites and see its bustling local life. First you will visit the town of Berastagi, famous for its passion fruit.

Day 1: Berastagi
Arrive at Polonia Airport in Medan and meet your guide who will take you around the city for a quick introduction, or drive you directly to lunch at a local restaurant.

Fed and rested, you will continue to Berastagi and check-in at the Sinabung Hotel, or a hotel of a similar standard. All accommodations on the trip will be at 2 or 3-star hotels. Visit the hot springs of the Sinabung Mountain and enjoy a dinner at your hotel.

Day 2: Sipiso-piso Waterfall and Gundaling
After breakfast at the hotel, you will go on a sightseeing trip to Sipiso-piso Waterfall. Watch it plunge from the rock face of a cave at Lake Toba and enjoy the spectacular scenery of Indonesia’s highest waterfall.

Return to Berastagi and spend some time shopping at the fruit and flower market. Berastagi is not a major tourist town, so you will experience Indonesian life like a local. Sightsee the Gundaling district for great photographs. If you would like, there will be time for some horse riding before your return to Medan.

Stop for dinner on the way back to Medan, and pause at Mr Ucok Stalls where you can try some of the local Medan Durian fruit. Check in at Medan Hotel for your second night’s stay.

Day 3: Medan
After breakfast check out for a half-day city tour, with time to shop at the local markets and to visit a batik souvenir gallery. Try some of the local cakes, such as Bika Ambon and Boludrop.

You will also visit the beautiful mosque of Masjid Raya and explore Maimun Palace, the Icon of Medan City with its exquisite blend of Malay, Spanish, Italian, Indian and Islamic styles.

You will be dropped off at the airport at the end of your tour and we will accompany you through all procedures until you reach the immigration gate.
