Your first stop is a visit to the famous synagogue of Marseille, built by Napoleon III in the second half of the 19th century. Next, the tour heads to the wall of names built in memory of the 4000 Jews deported by the Nazis in 1943. From here, you can take a moment to the admire the panoramic view of the Bay of Marseille from Notre Dame de la Garde, and the splendid view of the seaside city.
Then ascend from Marseille to Avignon to visit its lively Jewish Quarter and the spectacular and immense Palais des Papes, one of the largest and most important medieval Gothic buildings in Europe. The last stop on the tour is the village of Cavaillon. Built in the 15th century, it serves as an exceptional example of the Rocaille Provencal style. If there is time at the end of the tour, stop by the oldest synagogue in Carpentras, built in 1367, as a farewell treat.
