Tour one of the oldest and most beautiful parts of Madrid on a 3-hour walking tour featuring tapas and wine tastings. Stroll from restaurant to restaurant and stop off at 3 locations to sample delicious pairings of traditional Spanish food and wine.

Begin by walking into one of the oldest taverns in the city, an experience that feels like stepping back in time. Enjoy sips of the white wine that came into fashion in the roaring 20s that has since become the symbol of the authentic Madrid tavern. Pay attention to the olives too, which go together well with the wine.

Continue on to your next stop, where you will sample sherry wine paired with Jamón Ibérico de Bellota. This ham is from free-range pigs that roam oak forests along the border between Spain and Portugal, and is cured for 36 months or more.

Head to your final stop which will showcase a diverse array of Spanish wines with accompanying tapas, which you can savor before heading out either to take in the nightlife or head back to your hotel.

• English-speaking member of the Spanish Wine Tasting Association (UEC)
• Insurance

  • Rating: 5 “Fantastic trip with amazing food and drink - excellent guide as well !”

Reviewed by Sarah from Broadstairs, United Kingdom on September 10th, 2014 I couldn't recommend this trip highly enough ! We were met by our guide and introduced to the other people on our tour, a nice mix of Americans, Canadians, Australians and a couple from Finland. We set off and went to 4 different bars / restaurants. The food and drink in all of them far exceeded our expectations. I am usually a strictly dry white wine drinker but the sweet wine alongside the best ham we have ever eaten worked perfectly. We also had the most amazing red wine and I am beginning to think I may be a convert. All 3 of our group would quite happily have gone on the tour again the following evening, that's how good it was !!

  • Rating: 5 “Way more upscale than I expected.”

Reviewed by Linda from New York, United States on June 30th, 2014 Charming host and fun group.

  • Rating: 5 “Excellent evening; good value, entertaining and informative”

Reviewed by Jenny from Bishops Stortford, United Kingdom on June 9th, 2014 I recommend this for anyone visiting Madrid but especially for first time visitors and people with little or no Spanish. We found the whole evening great fun and our host Andreas, as we;; as teaching us about tapas dishes, Spanish wine and customs, helped pull it all together so it felt like a real party though most of us had never met before.

  • Rating: 5 “Well worth doing, highly recommend”

Reviewed by Gregg from Bromley, United Kingdom on June 7th, 2014 I think the success is a little dependant on the other group members. But Andres makes a great host for the tour which took us to 4 different places and through a great selection of vermouths, wines and oh of course tapas!

A great way to spend the evening.

  • Rating: 5 “Fantastic”

Reviewed by Catherine from Halesowen, United Kingdom on May 3rd, 2014 As a you g couple in our twenties, we wanted to do a bit of culture while on our city break!

This was a brilliant tour, the guide was full of enthusiasm which was great! We had a lively tour with great wine choices and food! The last place we would have gone back to if we had more time. This was worth the money and something we would do again, as the tour is different every time from what the guide said!

Would deferentially recommend this to one!

  • Rating: 5 “Andres made the tour very enjoyable. Lots of wine and good food.”

Reviewed by a GetYourGuide Customer from hayward, United States on January 11th, 2014 My fiance and I visited Madrid early December 2013. It was our first time to Spain and we only had a couple days to explore. Both of us really enjoyed the tour. Andres was prompt with emails regarding any questions I had. The meeting place for the start of the tour was easy to find. Andres took our group (5 of us total) to about 4 different locations. Andres was able to give a lot of historical information about the establishments and neighborhoods we walked through. The food and wine was delicious, don't eat before you go!

  • Rating: 3 “OK experience; not good value for money”

Reviewed by Scott from London, United Kingdom on January 4th, 2014 I purposely booked this tour even though it was about 3x more expensive (50 euro per person) than other similar ones because it had good reviews compared to the others so I assumed you get what you pay for. Well on this occasion this was not the case. It wasn't bad per se, since the host was a nice enough guy and we did go to several places where we had some nice food and wines, but for the price we expected to sample a lot more of both (we weren't interested in pigging out or getting drunk just getting our money's worth) and also to get a bit more history about Madrid and tapas in general. Instead he left us to mostly talk amongst ourselves and though the others on the tour were nice enough people that was not what I expected. All in all a decent evening but a considerable disappointment.

  • Rating: 5 “Great experience I would definately recommend!”

Reviewed by Kim from Raleigh, United States on December 22nd, 2013 I had a wonderful time on this tour. Andres was very organized and he introduced us to some really tastey tappas and wine. It was really fun chatting with the other tour members from all over the world to share the experience. This was one of the best highlights of my trip!!

  • Rating: 4 “Very enjoyable evening with good food, wine and company”

Reviewed by David from Belfast, United Kingdom on November 5th, 2013 Walking tour was as expected. Not much walking involved with visiting 4 bars/restaurants very close together. Nice mixed group of Americans and Europeans and an informative and interesting guide. Excellent range of wines to try - just a little of each - and a good range of food.

  • Rating: 5 “Locations and tapas were great, informative guiding and a lot of fun!”

Reviewed by Vilmosne on November 4th, 2013 Great food and wine, and a great guide! A real tour of the old city. I had a blast.

  • Rating: 5 “An excellent tour”

Reviewed by Anne from Linlithgow, United Kingdom on September 23rd, 2013 Don't think twice about booking this tour - just do it. Four of us managed to get places on the tour on the last night of our holiday and Andreas took us to parts of Madrid that we had still not discovered. The food, wines and company were wonderful and Andreas certainly knows his wines. Madrid is a wonderful city and this tour was the highlight of our visit.

  • Rating: 5 “We had a great time. Definitely recommended. The best one we've done.”

Reviewed by David from Aberdeen, United Kingdom on September 15th, 2013 This was the best tour we have done. The wine and the food was lovely and we had a really good group of people with us. Special thanks to Andres for his excellent knowledge and humour. When we come back to Madrid we shall definitely do this tour again.

  • Rating: 5 “great evening and introduction to 'tapas' and spanish wines”

Reviewed by Pedro from Ponte da Barca, Portugal on July 25th, 2013 andres is very nice and will present you some great spanish wines and 'tapas'. he tries to get all the people involved and I can tell you that our smiles make him smile, which means he tries that everyone has a good time. and you will...

the tour run over 5 bars in which you'll drink and eat traditional spanish wines and food - on the 3rd bar we only drink water but that's ok 'cause you're on the tour to enjoy the wines not to get drunk; I'm telling you this just for your information.

the tour ends in a nice bar where you'll eat (at the end) a juice steak that will make sure you're not hungry for the rest of the night. when I left everyone was talking and drinking so I assume the tour ends when all the participants decide it... there's still wine on the table btw ;)

Reviewed by John from Winterthur, Switzerland on June 9th, 2013 We were with a nice group of people and enjoyed a number of tapas that we would never have chosen ourselves (from the way they looked) but they were all really delicious. Also the places we were taken to we would never have found by ourselves. The wines were very good too and the tour was excellent. We feel the price was a bit high, but it was such an interesting experience.

  • Rating: 3 “Good for people interested in wine”

Reviewed by a GetYourGuide Customer from Auckland, New Zealand on May 12th, 2013 A good tour for those who are interested in learning more about Spanish wine. Minimal information about food. There was also 10people on the tour meaning that it was difficult to get in depth knowledge. I wouldn't recommend this tour if you are wanting to learn more about Spanish food. Overall an average tour.

  • Rating: 5 “Excellent food and a real madrilanean guide. A perfect choice.”

Reviewed by Jens from Düsseldorf, Germany on April 1st, 2013 We did that tour five days ago and are still crazy for this extraordinary food. Andres, our perfect host and a real madrilenean, guided us through some of the most original tapas bars of Madrid. Within the three hours, we tasted several different sorts of phantastic wine and learned about their creation and heritage. The food was outstanding and the best spanish food we've ever had. This tour surely was the highlight of our stay in Madrid, we recommend it absolutely. In case you hesitate because of the price: in any case, Andres as a madrilenean guide and the high-quality food & wine are really worth the money.

  • Rating: 5 “The best wine and food tour hands down!”

Reviewed by Larry from Chicago, United States on March 31st, 2013 Hit historic joints in central Madrid. Ones you would never find by yourself. The food is amazing and was paired perfectly with the hand selected wines. From young wine, to sherry, to Cab, to raisin wine. Its all hear and the value is incredible.

  • Rating: 5 “a delightful introduction to becoming temporary Madrilenos”

Reviewed by James from Hemel Hempstead, United Kingdom on March 18th, 2013 Andres is a wonderful host who leads you through the bars of the old city tasing excellent and truly "tipico" food and wines on your introduction to becoming temporary Madrilenos. With the perfect balance of detailed information and entertainment he educates your palate and your expectation steering your preferences for the rest of your stay in Madrid towards those of the Madrilenos. Encouraging participation by and interaction between the members of the small group you feel like you are out with friends; thanks for the memories.

  • Rating: 4 “A worthwhile evening”

Reviewed by Guenter from Hagen, Germany on November 13th, 2012 Andres is a professional guide who's always in a great mood and who's able to bring his guests closer to the spirit of eating and drinking in Madrid over 3 stops. At 60 Euro per person the price is rather steep. However overall it's a worthwhile investment for someone who's in Madrid for the first time.

  • Rating: 5 “Great evening. Andres was fantastic host.. and great food and wine!”

Reviewed by Clive from Truro, United Kingdom on October 28th, 2012 Myself and my wife thoroughly enjoyed our Tapas evening. We were treated to a selection of great food and wine in several wonderful tapas bars around Madrid. Andres was a great host .. very knowledgeable and enthusiastic and with a great sense of humour. He shared some of this local knowledge which we just wouldn't have found from the tourist guidebooks. We had a great evening with a lot of laughs with Andres and the other's who were with us on the tour.
We'd recommend this tour to anyone who wants a great evening !
