Begin with transport via an air-conditioned bus to Avila, where you will learn about Santa Teresa de Jesus, a great mystic woman of the Roman Catholic Church. You will also see some of the city; Avila has the most ancient and completely fortified complex in Spain.
Its 8,200-foot-long wall (about 2,500 meters) and its 90 fortified towers surround the old city, which houses a great part of its monumental treasures, including a large number of Romanesque-style churches, gothic palaces, and a fortified cathedral of the 12th century.
Next, continue on to visit the remains of the Roman Empire as seen at the Aqueduct of Segovia. Discover how this residence of some of the kings of Castilia is one of the most important medieval groups of buildings in Spain.
Finally, admire the "Lady of the Cathedrals" and view the most spectacular castle in Spain, Alcázar, which was built as a fortress but has also been used as a royal palace, state prison, college, and military academy.

“Enjoyed the towns, wish we had more free time”
Reviewed by Sharon from APO, United States on April 18th, 2014 This is a nice way to see a lot and save time. I would have liked to have been given the choice between seeing inside cathedrals, etc. air walking around on your own and meeting up later. This was our only opportunity to go to these places and the outside shops looked like they would have nice things to buy. We were given an hour or so to eat lunch, on our own, but as most know, it takes almost that much time in a European restaurant. I had two teenagers who lost interest in the guide because we had to listen to the entire tour in Spanish before the English. I didn't know we had to hear both when I was signing up.
“Enjoyed it and learned a lot.”

“tour guides were not good at all”
Reviewed by Creighton from Lewisburg, United States on December 29th, 2013 We were quite disappointed with the tour guides. They seemed to lack passion for their job and were not informative. Examples are:
1. the just presented facts (as a news reporter does) but did not give a big picture context (the way a teacher would)
2. there was no passion, no personality at all; just monotone reporting in an extremely boring manner
3. lack of organization, as they did not keep track of the total group-- the example is at the Segovia Cathedral over 20 people needed to go to the bathroom after the lunch break; the tour guide totally blew them off and kept walking, which left these people stressed trying to find her
In summary, I give this tour a D- and it is 100% due to the poor quality tour guides. I cannot recommend Julia Travel nor Get Your Guide to anyone. I will comment to Trip Advisor also. I am going to call the Get Your Guide company when I return to the USA.
Reviewed by Miriam from Miami, United States on August 3rd, 2013 The guide was knowledgeable and kind, refreshing after a not-so-great tour guide from another company. I would definitely consider this company again for my next tours and would refer friends to it!
“An interesting tour with very knowledgable tour guide.”
Reviewed by a GetYourGuide Customer from Darnum, Australia on May 14th, 2013 We were very lucky on our tour as both locations were celebrating the festival of the cow. This added a lot of colour to the normal tour and made for some great photo opportunities. The guide (Maria) was professional and knowledgable. A great day out!
“This was a very enjoyable tour.”
Reviewed by Deborah from Pottsville, Australia on May 1st, 2013 This tour was really good. The driver and tour guide were great. We had snowy weather to contend with (in April) but it was still great fun. Segovia is amazing and well worth the trip. Alcazar and the Cathedral and aqueduct were all breath-taking. Avila was also lovely and seeing the walled city was quite impressive.
“Fantastic tour, and guide was excellent.”
Reviewed by Michael from Ashbourne, Ireland on January 23rd, 2013 We really enjoyed the tour. Avila was beautiful, enjoyed the walk around the old town, although it was a freezing cold day. Lunch in Segovia was lovely, and the town was lovely. Will go bank again when it is a bit warmer and spend more time in both towns.
“Competent and friendly guide”

“Very informative and Pleasent experience!”
Reviewed by Kayla from Pawtucket, United States on May 25th, 2012 Everyone got to the bus a bit early so we left early. Everything went to plan. If you don't get the included meal, which I did not, you get almost 2 hours to roam Segovia solo to buy souvineers and snap beautiful pictures. I signed up for the English guide but there ended up being Spanish speakers as well. The guide did a very good job with first speaking Spanish then English. I enjoyed this because it gave me an opportunity to hear more of the Spanish language and check my understanding with the English portion. It was a great daytrip for the low cost in my opinion. I highly recommend this day tour from Julia Travel. I wish I had done another daytrip with them!
“A part of Spain everyone should see.”
Reviewed by Matthew from Gorman, United States on January 31st, 2012 A great tour of places in Spain that most people probably don't know about. The landscapes are beautiful and these small cities are very historically rich and unique. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and could answer any questions about the sites and also spoke perfect English.

“Ein schöner Tag im Umland von Madrid”
Reviewed by a GetYourGuide Customer from Vogtareuth, Germany on June 6th, 2013 Ein netter Tagsausflug in die beiden kleinen Städte, in denen es wirklich was zu sehen gibt.
Reviewed by Elsa from Westendorf, Austria on May 15th, 2013 Den Ausflug kann ich nur empfehlen.
Reviewed by Álvaro from Lima, Peru on May 11th, 2013 Definitivamente vale la pena ir a Ávila y a Segovia.
“Buenas explicaciones !!!”
Reviewed by Andrea from San José, Costa Rica on January 31st, 2013 Me gustó mucho !!! pero sentí que estuvimos muy poco tiempo en Ávila y me hubiera gustado estar más tiempo !!! aparte de eso todo excelente !!!!
