Day 1: Madrid- Avila - Salamanca (Meals: D)
Leave Madrid for Avila, a Castillan city with a well preserved medieval wall. Then travel to Salamanca, a city full of monuments, where you will have time to explore Plaza Mayor and its old quarters. Dinner and accommodation in Salamanca.
Day 2: Salamanca - Coimbra (Meals: B, D)
Travel to Ciudad Rodrigo and the Portuguese border. From here the tour continues via Guarda towards Coimbra, the site of one of the oldest universities in Europe and birthplace of Fado, the music of Portugal.
Dinner and accommodation in Coimbra.
Day 3: Coimbra – Fatima - Lisbon (Meals: B, D)
Leave for Fatima, an important pilgrimage center. You will have some free time to visit the Shrine before continuing towards Lisbon, the capital of Portugal, located at the mouth of river Tagus.
Accommodation in Lisbon.
Day 4: Lisbon (Meals: B)
Day begins with a morning city sightseeing tour that takes us to the old Alfama Quarter, the Tower of Belem, the Monastery of Los Jeronimos, etc. You can explore the rest of the city during your free time in the afternoon or opt to take a tour to Sintra, Cascais and Estoril.
Day 5: Lisbon – Merida – Madrid (Meals: B, L)
Depart for Mérida, where you will have lunch and visit the famous Roman Theater. We then head for Madrid, where the tour ends.
