Your comprehensive tour will start in the lower city of Marquês de Pombal, taking you along the Avenida da Liberdade, Restauradores, and Rossio to the Marquês de Pombal's chessboard.
Then you will travel in the direction of the Basilica da Estrela, a masterpiece of the Baroque from the 18th century, and the imposing Portuguese Parliament. And of course, you will be taken past the house of the late Amália Rodrigues, Fado singer, and the most famous person from Portugal since Magellan.
After this, you'll get to know Belém, the quarter where you will see several monuments lit up, such as the Monastery of St. Jerome, the Monument to the Discoveries, and the Belém Tower. Then you will try out the local specialty, the world-famous and delicious Pastel de Belém. This is a cake made to a recipe dating back as far as 1837, originally made in the Monastery of St. Jerome.
You will go on to the beautifully-lit Ajuda Palace, and as a crowning highlight, to the Bridge of the 25th April, over the river Tagus. From here, at 110m height, the city of Lisbon, princess of the ocean, lies at your feet. A breathtaking view of the whole city, right up to the shining Christ Statue.
At the end of the excursion you will be brought back to your hotel along the imposing Lisbon Viaduct from the 18th century.
