Explore Portugal on a full-day, multi-city tour that takes you to some of its most popular medieval and 20th-century architectural and religious marvels. Depart from Lisbon and make your way to Fátima, a major center of global Catholic pilgrimage.

Take a full-day, multi-city tour that brings you to some of Portugal's most popular medieval and 20th-century architectural and religious marvels, beginning in Lisbon and ending in Fátima.

Depart from Lisbon by bus at 9:00 and head to Óbidos, the 'wedding present town'. This is the town that King Dinis gave to his bride, Queen Isabel, on their wedding day in 1282. This romantic village is surrounded by the 45-foot-high walls of a medieval Moorish castle, the famous Pousada do Castelo.

Continue on to Alcobaça to visit the largest church in Portugal, Alcobaça Monastery, which is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Admire the stunning Cistercian Gothic art and the ornate tombs of King Pedro and his beloved Queen Inês.

Stop for lunch in colorful Nazaré, a traditional Portuguese fishing village. If time permits, head to Sítio to enjoy a beautiful view of the beach and ocean. Then, kick off the afternoon with a trip to Batalha Monastery, another UNESCO World Heritage Site, with beautiful stained-glass windows and the Manueline-style Royal Cloister.

Arrive at the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Fátima, a center of Catholic faith and globally recognized pilgrimage destination. Housed in the Basilica are the tombs of Lúcia, Francisco, and Jacinta, peasant children who, despite threats, never denied witnessing the apparition of Mary. The heart of the shrine is in the Chapel of Apparitions. Schedule permitting, you can attend Mass.

Afterwards, you will return to Lisbon on a route that takes you through a rich agricultural region.

  • Rating: 5 “Unforgetable”

Reviewed by Laudelina from Fairhaven, United States on October 18th, 2014 It rained most of the day, but Helena, our guide, did not let that interfere with what we had to do that day. She was very knowledgeable and made sure everyone enjoyed the tour. Obidos was quite an experience. After giving us the history, she let us discover the town on our own, which my husband and I love to do. Time spent there was just right. Then off to Nazare, and our lunch. Restaurant Sao Miguel, was a great choice. Food and service was wonderful. Fatima was an unforgetable experience. Again, the time spent in Fatima, was the right amount for us to be able to see what we wanted, and experience the moment. We even were able to visit the wax museum that friends of our had recommended. Bravo Helena!

  • Rating: 5 “Awesome”

Reviewed by a GetYourGuide Customer from Dublin, Ireland on October 13th, 2014 Despite have no organization at meeting point (all tours for the same company departed at the same place but had just 2 people to check and confirm each one). Apart that, everything else was amazing.
Our guide, Dora, has told us the history about every place, some of it very detailed, and she made a great effort to give the information in all languages she could (this tour should be in Portuguese, Spanish and English, but she tried to give some information also in French), that was really professional.
The places are lovely, and the time was enough to see them, I just wanted to stay a little more at Fátima, one hour isn't enough to see everything there.
I had great time with this guide tour, for sure.
    It really worth.

  • Rating: 4 “Very nice experience”

Reviewed by Johanna from Venezuela, Venezuela on May 4th, 2014 It was very covenient to have the posibility of arrange this tour in advance, some weeks before our travel. We received a very good service at the meeting point in Lisboa. The transport unit was very comfortable and spacious. The driver and also Our guide, Margarita, were very kind and gentle. The places we visited in the tour were beautiful and representative of the Portuguese culture. We really enjoy it.

  • Rating: 5 “Full day trip with a lot included”

Reviewed by Jan Erik from Hakadal, Norway on April 29th, 2014 Very interesting and varied overview of Portugal outside Lisbon, from a medieval fortress town on the UNESCO list, to the catholic pilgrimage target Fatima, and lots of interesting sights inbetween. Special thanks to our friendly and knowledgeable guide! The included lunch was simple, but decent value.

  • Rating: 3 “too short a time in Fatima”

Reviewed by Nora from Co Kildare, Ireland on March 24th, 2014 The over all tour was good, and the Guide was very good, but it was advertised as a tour from Lisbon to Fatima, I would like to have had more time in Fatima, to get a feel for the place. We didn't have time for Mass or anything like that.

  • Rating: 5 “An enjoyable, well organized, full-day tour”

Reviewed by Paul from Mosta, Malta on September 19th, 2013 A very pleasant, well organized and informative full-day tour. We visited Obidos, Batalha, Nazare and Fatima. Our tour leader Elena was knowledgeable, disciplined time-wise and friendly. She also found time to address each of us personally. The lunch included was very tasty abundant. This gave us time to mingle with all the other people in the tour.

  • Rating: 5 “A great experience!”

Reviewed by Terence from Jersey City, United States on May 6th, 2013 The guide was excellent...to be able to translate to different languages as well as her knowledge of local history.

  • Rating: 2 “the tour didn’t do what it promised”

Reviewed by Sabrina from Berlin, Germany on November 4th, 2012 the tour wasn't like we thought, german was only spoken when we asked, before it didn't seem necessary to them because we were the only 2 german speakers. the spoken german was hard to understand and meant the tour lasted longer than expected, 10 hours became 11.5 hours and that was sadly very hard going.

  • Rating: 4 “Well organised....”

Reviewed by Dasan from Gerlafingen, Switzerland on October 23rd, 2012 The trip was well organised and well priced. Only the stop in Fatima church was a bit short I though.

  • Rating: 4 “I really enjoyed the bus tour. The driver was great!”

  • Rating: 5 “Definitely recommend it”

Reviewed by Ines from Zeppernick, Germany on June 24th, 2012 Very nice ride. Saw a lot. Guides tip top. Very well organized, from the morning hotel pickup to lunch. You have to be ready for really mixed tour groups. We were the only two Germans. As a result we misunderstood some of the info from the guide, but she explained it more thoroughly every time we asked. This one is definitely recommendable!!!

We had the Lunch 1A (Soup, Salad, Fish, Dessert, White Wine, Water and Coffee included!) Many thanks to the guide, who made sure that us 5 german speakers got all of the information. Definitely do it again next time!

  • Rating: 5 “A really worthwhile outing”

Reviewed by Peter from Furth, Austria on May 13th, 2012 The day trip was very well organized, the pick up from the hotel was on time without issue, the tour guide had interesting information in multiple languages to offer. We were happy and relaxed and would definitely book with you guys again.

  • Rating: 4 “Tour was very interesting, nice, dynamic and competently run”

Reviewed by Marcel from Zürich, Switzerland on April 16th, 2012 Everything good. We had a great tour guide who knew her stuff and was funny. The tour was trilingual: portuguese, spanish, english. We speak English so it wasn't an issue but we did book in German so if we hadn't spoken English it would have been an issue.

  • Rating: 3 “Price-performance ratio is ok, the speakers were too loud in the bus”

Reviewed by Karl from Untersiebenbrunn, Austria on April 5th, 2012 Saw lots! Very much a tourist tour, no German, only Portuguese, Spanish, and English. In all, it was ok.

  • Rating: 3 “Sights and Nature totally worthwhile, need more time!”

Reviewed by Gerhard from Kufstein, Austria on April 2nd, 2012 For this tour there were too many places to go. Other than the Alcobaca Church, none of the places had enough time set out to really experience them. Old or disabled people really can't keep up. The lunch break was to short, but the restaurant and the food were fine. There wasn't enough time left for the visit to the Fishing village. The factory visit was interesting but we didn't have enough time to look around. If you wanted to buy anything the bus had to wait. Fatima: It was already 5pm and mass. Instead we went to the pilgrimage site, but had to leave at 6:10pm. Shame. Big props to the tour guide though, there were only two of us who spoke German and she still put a lot of effort in to explain the people, country, and sites to us. We would definitely do it again but over 2 days, while then it would definitely be worth the money. At least two extra hours would have been really nice

  • Rating: 5 “Excellent”

Reviewed by a GetYourGuide Customer from Miami, United States on March 19th, 2012 Excellent tour. I enjoyed it so much. Our tour guide, Ana, was excellent. I highly recommend this tour!

  • Rating: 3 “Amazing places but too much”

Reviewed by Günter from Wien, Austria on October 5th, 2011 The places we visited were out of this world nice but for a 10 hour tour with a long lunch break it was too much. An hour for each of the sites just isn't enough, always hurrying. Guide spoke english and portuguese but they had a German audio guide

  • Rating: 3 “Rated 2.”

Reviewed by Rafael from Reston, United States on September 10th, 2011 This tour is titled "fatima Tour" . It is very misleading and deceiving. We were very disappointed because Fatima was our last stop. This is the main reason people booked the tour for. We arrive at 5:30p.m. w/one hour to see everything. The factory for shopping was before we arrived at the shrine. Ridiculous and given 45 min. to shop. The main goal/purpose of the tour is FATIMA. ....not all the many stops we made. So we were tired by the time we got to Fatima and we had to rush, rush to see not all of the Sanctuary. We get on the bus at 8:30a.m.to arrive at fatima at 5:30p.m. Please reevaluate this tour. I will not recommend it to anybody. The Rest.food was rated poor by the 8 persons on the table. We had wine served and only one person had 2glasses. It should not be part of the lunch . The wine should be excluded and be an option. The desert was NOT good at all. We were starving by 8p.m. and lots of other people felt the same....we arrived exhausted and hungry at 9:15p.m.

  • Rating: 1 “Un tour que NO recomiendo”

Reviewed by José from San Pedro Sula, Honduras on September 13th, 2014 Soy sacerdote y no recomiendo a los católicos este tour.

Reviewed by a GetYourGuide Customer from Bad Saarow, Germany on April 18th, 2014 Die Tour heißt Fatima, entsprechend fährt man mit, weil man den Ort besuchen will.
