Discover the world's most notorious genocide site on this 6-hour tour from Krakow. The Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp and museum provides a fascinating and disturbing insight into the history of World War II and the plights of Holocaust victims.
What to Expect
Visit the world's most infamous symbol of terror and genocide, the Nazi concentration camp, Auschwitz. Established in 1940 in the suburbs of Oświęcim, the name was officially changed under German occupation, and was the site of an estimated 1.3 million deaths, 90% of whom were Jewish.
Beginning in Krakow, transfer to Oświęcim to tour the grounds and many of the buildings at both the Auschwitz I and Auschwitz II-Birkenau sites. Discover the history of the camps, and the plights of those interred, at the camp museum. Try to make sense of a horror that is almost impossible to comprehend before transferring back to Krakow.
