The beautiful city of Istanbul is the only city in the world located in two continents at once. The Bosphorus Strait divides the city in two and marks the line between Asia and Europe.
We will visit the impressive Hagia Sophia, which served as the Cathedral of Constantinople for over a thousand years. In 1453 it was transformed into a Mosque by Sultan Mehmed.
The Hippodrome of Constantine was a u-shaped track used for sporting and social events during the Byzantine Empire. Today you can see the Obelisk from Egypt, the Serpent Column and the Fountain of Wilhelm II which adorn the square.
The famous Blue Mosque is located across Hagia Sophia and is one of the most impressive sites in Istanbul. It was built in the 17th century by Sultan Ahmed and is easily recognized by its six minarets.
You will have the opportunity to see the impressive Topkapi Palace, which today houses Prophet Mohammed’s cloak and sword, the most holy relics of the Muslim world.
After our visit through the city, we will stop for a glass of wine and admire beautiful rugs in a Turkish Rug studio.
