Enjoy a full-day tour of Tuscany’s villages and wine regions from Florence and travel into the heart of the beautiful Tuscan countryside. Visit the town of San Gimignano, the wine territory of Chianti, and the medieval town of Siena.

Explore the heart of beautiful Tuscany on a full-day tour of the towns of San Gimignano and Siena, then discover the bucolic wine region of Chianti. Departing from Florence by luxury air-conditioned bus, your first stop will be the UNESCO World Heritage Site of San Gimignano, one of the most splendid examples of an Italian medieval town.

Distinguished by its famous towered skyline, San Gimignano stands along the Via Francigena on the hills of the Upper Val D’Elsa. Also famous for its Vernaccia di San Gimignano wine, saffron, and precious Santa Fina pottery, it is an excellent place to get acquainted with the Tuscan environment. You will enjoy some free time to stroll through the town on your own and explore its beautiful squares, architecture, churches, and side streets.

Continue to Siena for a guided tour of its enchanting architectural styles, including the Cathedral and Palazzo Comunale (Municipal Building) in Piazza del Campo. The famous shell-shaped square provides the stage for the thrilling Palio horse race, run twice every summer.

In the afternoon you will tour the Chianti Classico area, taking in charming scenic views. Here you will have the pleasure of touring a famous wine estate where Chianti Classico, oil, balsamic vinegar, and aromatic herbs are all produced. Enjoy a delicious lunch of sliced cold meats, bruschetta, salami, pasta, and cheeses before your return journey to Florence.

  • Rating: 5 “Excellent Day Trip”

Reviewed by a GetYourGuide Customer from Kings Langley, United Kingdom on October 22, 2014 Excellent trip, very informative and very good value for money. Our guide Viola Mastragostino was very helpful, cheerful and knowlegeable about the area we were visiting. The entertainment value of the wine tasting part of the trip alone made it worth it. It was also very informative and interesting and the lunch was better and more than I was expecting. Well done to everyone one involved in making it a very enjoyable day.

  • Rating: 4 “Sites were very interesting”

Reviewed by a GetYourGuide Customer from Deerfield Beach, United States on October 20, 2014 The sites were well chosen and the guides knowledgeable. The lunch and wine tasting was disappointing in quality.

  • Rating: 3 “Average”

Reviewed by a GetYourGuide Customer from Coquitlam, Canada on October 12, 2014 The day itself was fantastic, however, I was unimpressed with the guide.
It was nice to have travel arranged for the day and the highlight was the wine tasting but if you are looking for a guided tour, this is not it.
Once off the bus, at all three stops, we were left on our own. No direction, no engaging conversation no walking tour. Our guide seemed more interested in cigarettes than the tour group.

  • Rating: 5 “Unexpectable journey”

Reviewed by a GetYourGuide Customer from Bangkok, Thailand on October 1, 2014 We planned to go to San Gimignano from Florence for our Italy trip. First we try to go on our own by train and bus. But when we saw the program tour from Getyourguide. We think let give it a shot but it becomes a great experience for us. Our English guide is perfectly great and also the local guide in Siena. The free time in each town is perfect that can give us to look around the whole town. The recommendation of gelato from our guide in San Gimignano is awesome. It's our best Gelato in Italy so far. This is one of experience that you should get!!!

  • Rating: 4 “Best way to see tuscany in one day”

Reviewed by Jaimie from Walnut Creek, United States on September 14, 2014 While my husband and I were staying in florence we wanted to see some of the Tuscan hillside towns and do a wine tasting. We did not want to rent a car and we're tight on time so we decided to do a day tour to get the most bang for our buck! We meet at the train station and loaded onto a big tour bus that took us to san gimmigano, chianti for a lunch/wine tasting, siena, and a quick stop a a castle on the way back. It was a long day but worth being able to see so much in a short amount of time. It was also nice to be able to enjoy the country side instead of trying to drive and navigate. We usually are not huge fans of large tours and tour buses, but this tour gave you so much 'free' time you almost felt as if you were on your own most the time.

  • Rating: 5 “Nice trip and nice tour guide”

Reviewed by a GetYourGuide Customer from HONG KONG, Hong Kong on September 11, 2014 The explanation from the tour guide is nice. And the lunch is more than my expectation! (salad, pasta, wine tasting) The guide in Siena is wonderful.. We know much more about this old city while the guide leading us to walk around. Recommend this tour in Florence.

  • Rating: 5 “Most enjoyable tour in many years”

  • Rating: 5 “A very pleasont day”

Reviewed by Maxim from Québec, Canada on August 17, 2014 We had a wonderfull experience during that tour. San Gimignano is really a medieval village stuck in time and Siena is also a must-see. The castle visit at the end is the cherry on top of that tour. We had a very nice guide (Julia) and a professional bus driver that made us feel safe. Only little complain is about the lunch, which is okay, but not great and the wine tasting (during lunch) where we we felt pressured a little bit to buy their pretty expensive wine.

  • Rating: 5 “The best trip I've ever been on - it made our holiday”

Reviewed by Jess from Plymouth, United Kingdom on August 4, 2014 An absolutely fantastic trip! San Gimignano was the most beautiful place I have ever been and the fort we visited at the end had the most amazing views of Tuscany. Wish we had a bit more time at the fort but overall, the day was well planned and we were pretty exhausted by the end of it! Will definitely be visiting these places again. The wine tasting and lunch was good fun too and the coach was comfortable and appreciated the air conditioning. Would absolutely recommend.

  • Rating: 4 “worth going”

Reviewed by Simon from Mosta, Malta on July 27, 2014 This day tour is worth going as it removes the hassles of travelling by bus between San Gimingano and Siena. The wine tasting wass great and would not have been possible if going around by bus

  • Rating: 4 “A great day in Tuscany!”

Reviewed by Yves from Montreal, Canada on July 23, 2014 We were a bit worried that a tour group would be a bit "stifling" for us, but we ended up having a great day! Our guide, Cara, was warm, personable and knew a lot about the region, and the day was planned in a way that gave us the chance to see a lot and also have free time on our own. San Gimignano and Siena are spectacular, and well worth the visit. And the lunch and wine tasting at the winery was delicious, relaxed and very informative. Overall, a great day!

  • Rating: 5 “very nice day”

Reviewed by Joseph from Peachtree City, United States on July 20, 2014 Everything was great with only 2 complaints. Our time in Siena was shortened to 2 hours instead of 3 (I guess we were over time somewhere else). Also, the guide in Siena used a transmitter system that wasn't very good . You would hear too much background noise. They probably weren't necessary anyway, since we were outside the whole time.

  • Rating: 2 “Not what I expected”

Reviewed by Sally from Toronto, Canada on June 17, 2014 The tour was a bit disorganized. When we got to San Gimignano, they tour guide left us on our own without any description of the space and building. The wine tour was only 1 hour, it seemed like it would be longer. When we got to Siena the tour guide on the grounds didn't speak English very clearly. I can go on and on, but certainly a disappointing tour.

    The driver was great however!

  • Rating: 5 “Well organised and on time”

Reviewed by a GetYourGuide Customer from FLEET, United Kingdom on June 11, 2014 We felt that it was it was a well conducted tour with a good balance of free time and informative guides. The tour leader was very experienced and although mainly used English was able to communicate effectively with the non English speaking members of the group.

  • Rating: 5 “Great way to visit some of the most beautiful sights of Tuscany”

Reviewed by Rodrigo from Berlin, Germany on June 3, 2014 Our guide, Alessandra, was great, very helpful and informative. This tour is a very nice (and cheap!) way to visit the gorgeous cities of San Gimignano and Siena. The Chianti winery lunch was very fun also because of the staff in there. Great tour!

  • Rating: 4 “Wonderful wine tour”

Reviewed by Kim from St. John's, Canada on May 22, 2014 We can definately say that the trip to San Gimignano was awesome. Great scenery and the town was adorable. After that was the wine tasting, which was excellent. However, the time spent in Siena was far too long with little to see after arriving in the town center. However, we were then left for two full hours with nothing to do or see. The last stop was merely filler and a complete waste of time. All in alll. it was a very relaxed tour but too long for what was seen.. If it had included Pisa and much shorter time in Siena, and the last stop omitted, then it would have been 100% perfect.
