Departing from Florence by luxury air-conditioned bus, your first stop will be the UNESCO World Heritage Site of San Gimignano, one of the most splendid examples of an Italian medieval town.

Distinguished by its famous towered skyline, San Gimignano stands along the Via Francigena on the hills of the Upper Val D’Elsa. You will enjoy some free time to stroll through the town on your own and explore its beautiful squares, architecture, churches, and side streets.

In the afternoon you will tour the Chianti Classico area, taking in charming scenic views. Here you will have the pleasure of touring a famous wine estate where Chianti Classico, oil, balsamic vinegar, and aromatic herbs are all produced. Enjoy a delicious lunch of sliced cold meats, bruschetta, salami, pasta, and cheeses.

  • Rating: 3 “Nothing extraordinary”

Reviewed by a GetYourGuide Customer – khobar, Saudi Arabia on June 30, 2015 1) had requested for free pickup. It was much earlier than trip time. So had to wait at train station.
    2) Poor English from guide but overall sweet.
    3) punctual services.
    4) bus extremely comfortable.
    5) lunch & wine at a vinery but no tour of wine making or cellars. Wine tasting was a new experience.

  • Rating: 5 “Excellent tour”

Reviewed by Jon – Glasgow, United Kingdom on June 29, 2015 Great value and well planned tour. Great guides and mixed perfectly with a good amount of free time to explore. Siena is a must visit.

  • Rating: 5 “Great guide and organized tour!”

Reviewed by a GetYourGuide Customer – Winter Park, United States on June 26, 2015 The tour of San Gimignano and Siena was AWESOME. We enjoyed the bus ride with great scenery, spending time at each stops, taking pictures, shopping and having gelato and local specialties in whichever town we were at. Our tour guide was fun and we enjoyed her company.
The Chianti stop was a joke though. We stepped off the bus, and into a marketing presentation from Start to Finish. We were expecting to see how they make their chianti, tour the vineyard and such like a typical wine tour would be in the US. Then as usual, feed us with your selling skills but instead, we sat down to a table with our tour mates and listened to a guy blabbed on about the product as we sipped on 3 or 4 different wines including a dessert wine and tasted the truffle oil in the pasta that my teen daughter could have whipped up, blindfolded. Overall, we were disappointed as there were no time for pictures of the vineyard. Note:Request a free hotel pick up & eat breakfast before the tour! Overall, good tour

  • Rating: 4 “Informative tour and plenty of free time”

Reviewed by Andrew – Upper Coomera, Australia on June 21, 2015 Very informative tour and guide was really interactive. Plenty of free time to explore all the stops. Only suggestion would be too have a decent breakfast as lunch isn't really lunch. It's more a snack at the wine tasting of a small antipasto platter and a small bowl of tomato pasta you try with some truffle oil. It is a long day but well worth it to see the area. Make sure you email the provider for your complimentary hotel pick up. You have to make your own way back at the end of the day but it's not hard.

  • Rating: 4 “Good tour, great value!”

Reviewed by a GetYourGuide Customer – Oakland, United States on June 20, 2015 on it's own, this was a very good tour. For the money, it was a great one! I found all four stops to be unique, interesting and fun, and I actually wish I had more time in both San Gimignano and Sienna (our free time was cut short by about 45 minutes in both places due to some slow tour participants).

In regards to our guide Eliza, what can I say...Bellissima Ragazza! She was great at keeping everything organized, giving us clear directions, and providing us with some fun facts about each place we visited.

Overall, I highly recommend this tour and would give it 4.5 stars if I could.
