Dublin - Very Special St. Patrick's Day Walk
Experience the magical atmosphere of Dublin on St. Patrick’s Day
See the city’s ancient pre-Viking sites
Visit medieval Christ Church and St. Patrick’s cathedrals
Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in Dublin and take a special walk in honor of Ireland’s patron saint and his legacy. Learn about the relationship between pre-Viking Dublin and St. Patrick. Visit the medieval cathedrals of St. Patrick and Christ Church.
The walk lasts for around 2 hours and 15 minutes. You’ll learn about the pre-Viking development of Dublin and how the city owes its origins to the legacy of St. Patrick. The tour takes in ancient sites, including those in between the city’s 2 great medieval cathedrals: Christ Church and St Patrick’s. See the places that most tourists and many Dubliners miss.
Admission to the interior of St. Patrick’s Cathedral is included in the price of the tour. Children, up to age of 16 years, can join the walk for free but will need to pay the EUR 4 entrance fee to the cathedral. There is also an optional escorted visit to the Guinness Storehouse available.
• Entrance to St. Patrick's Cathedral (EUR 5.50 value)
Good to Know:
Please try to book the tour at least 4-6 hours in advance to allow the local supplier time to arrange for an extra guide if the group is large.
Tours operate regardless of the weather. Anyway, it doesn’t rain that often in Dublin!

“Waste of time”
Reviewed by a GetYourGuide Customer from Santa Clara, United States on March 30th, 2014 It wasn't a very engaging tour. Too long and not enough varied stories. Didn't show any of the hidden cool spots in Dublin. It felt like a religious walking tour as everything was being tied back to Christianity. Perhaps that *is* the history of Dublin and I need to be satisfied with that.
“Great tour guide!”

“Just worth it.”

“Good tour, bad broadcast”
Reviewed by Malise from Mandeville, United States on March 26th, 2014 Our walking tour of Dublin on St. Patrick's Day had great potential and we covered a good distance at a brisk pace, but a good bit of valuable history and information was lost to the noise of the streets. Instead of waiting for a bus or noisy vehicle to pass, the tour leader (Pauline) kept talking. As we were a group of 25, we could not all gather round close enough to hear. We missed quite a lot of what was discussed as we stopped on the streets. Off-street, she was excellent, informative and it showed that she loves her city and her heritage. My suggestion is for her to slow down enough to let the vehicles go by and make certain everyone is able to hear the information.
If that had been done, I'd give it 4 stars!

Reviewed by a GetYourGuide Customer from Rijswijk, Netherlands on March 24th, 2014 A bit bummed that the tour wasn't lead by Pat himself, but Gerry, our tour guide, did nonetheless a great job.

“It was nice experience and fast introduction of Dublin historical city”
Reviewed by Eliska from Plzen - sever, Czech Republic on March 20th, 2014 The guide - a Polish woman (Paulina I think) was very nice and highly professional. It was good way how to understand the Dublin and Historical situation of St. Patrick's. What was boring sometimes, too long speakng about some historical backgrounds. Especially in one old street, past markets area (before St. Patrck's cathedral). iI missed the visitin inside Christ church. In common it was nice walk. ;)
Reviewed by Chris from Mullingar, Ireland on March 19th, 2014 the only negative i would have is that the guide didnt face us all the time when she was talking. e.g. she would turn to look at the building she was talking about. when she did this i could not hear her. also when the tour was over i didnt know how to get back to my destination. i got lost!

“Good Tour, good insights, great day”
Reviewed by a GetYourGuide Customer from Dublin, Ireland on March 19th, 2014 The tour was very good. However our guide was not Irish which didn't really bother us other than the fact that we were an Irish couple so it would have been nice to have an insiders view....our guide was fantastic but my partner did feel that it was a bit insulting to be told about your city from an outsider. No offence is meant to the guide who was truly informative but i feel the man who insisted we take that tour rather than wait for the next group who was going with an Irish guide was rather rude and put a bit of a blight on our experience. Overall I would recommend this tour to others visiting Dublin but the organisers should cater perhaps in a different way to Irish people especially Dubs who choose to partake!
“Lots of fantastic and suprising information”
Reviewed by Tomasz from Warszawa, Poland on March 19th, 2014 It was really fantastic experience. We got a possibility to access the City Hall, usually closed and St. Patricks Cathedral without a queue. Also our guide was well prepared and sold us lots of awesome stories. I learned a lot from the tour. Thanks a lot for this opportunity!

“Very informative and enjoyable tour!”
Reviewed by Gina from Calgary, Canada on March 20th, 2013 Enjoyed the history lesson and the side stories that Pauline provided all along the walk. Her knowledge of dublin's history and St Patrick mythology was very worthwhile.
“It was informative with interesting and surprising information”
Reviewed by Bobby from dublin, Ireland on March 19th, 2013 I thoroughly enjoyed seeing and hearing about places which are buildings which i pass every working day.
The origins of St Patrick and the suggestion that he had worked in Mayo as well as Antrim was novel for me . His Latin name was great to hear.
“Very interesting and entertaining.”
Reviewed by a GetYourGuide Customer from Paris, France on March 18th, 2013 It was a good walk with interesting stories, well worth the money. The only thing was the mention of historical events that people may not have been familar with. Coming from an Irish studies background, I knew about those but am not sure that the other members of the group knew the ins and outs of the Easter Rising, for instance.
“Great tour for tourists or people new to the city!”
Reviewed by Susanne from Dublin, Ireland on March 17th, 2013 I enjoyed the tour, but had done already some sightseeing in Dublin before, so I didn't learn too much new. It was basically a city tour with mentioning of St Patrick a few times. I would have liked a bit more stories etc around St Patrick. People were also very helpful when I faced some stairs during the tour with my buggy.
“Both Informative and entertaining tour!”
Reviewed by Sven from Frankfurt, Germany on April 28th, 2012 Decided to join this tour to get some background on St. Patrick and his work and it was definitely a walk worth taking! Pat Liddy did a great job as a tour guide, provided a lot of information but also lots of entertaining anecdotes. Highly recommended and I will gladly do another tour when back in Dublin!
Reviewed by Kevin from dublin, Ireland on March 28th, 2012 The lady guide was excellent, knowledgable, amusing and informative. Have already recommended this tour to family and friends.
