Charleston's Pirate and Haunted History Tour
Discover Charleston from a pirate's point of view
Enjoy an eerie tour of the wharfs of Charleston harbor
Visit the oldest structures of the 1600's original walled city
Hear stories of maritime ghosts and pirates
Join this eerie 90-100 minute tour of Charleston's French Quarter led by underwater archeologist Michelle Damian and Geordie Buxton. Learn of the dark and secret maritime events in Charleston even today, and hear tales of mysterious spectral occurrences.
This 90-minute tour is brimming with detailed stories of the pirates, military soldiers, prisoners and sailors who stalked the Charleston waterfront on ship and on foot hundreds of years ago – and who have refused to leave.
Listen to tales of strange occurrences at Castle Pinckney; of the reappearing face of a mysterious soldier at Fort Sumter; of the influence over writer Edgar Allen Poe – a Sullivan’s Island resident; of the unexplained sounds of Seneca guns; and many more.
Determined to combat the usual vague, repetitive pirate and ghost stories, and armed with a chilling repertoire of spectral lore, Geordie Buxton and Michelle Damian have researched unique and ghastly tales.

“Exciting, learned a lot, fascinating history and a great tour guide!”
Reviewed by Pamela from West Columbia, United States on October 29, 2014 We enjoyed our tour with Geordie greatly. I've been on one of his tours before and enjoyed it, this did not disappoint. He's very knowledgeable but beyond that, he's a great storyteller and knows how to keep the tours attention whether with a creepy story, jokes, or just imparting information. Thank you!
“The guide was very informative. Enjoyed the tour very much”

“This is another great walking tour by Walks in History!”
Reviewed by Trudy from Mount Gilead, United States on August 1, 2014 We took the Charleston's Pirate and Haunted History tour on Friday, July 25th. We took the Paranormal Charleston tour through Walks in History last year and enjoyed it so much that we booked a different tour through them on our trip this year. A shower had just ended, so several people cancelled. Their loss! We had the same guide (Geordie) from last year and he was still as energetic and entertaining as if we had a large group. Highly recommend!

“Entertainment at its finest!”
Reviewed by Jen from North Las Vegas, United States on June 25, 2014 This was my first visit to Charleston. Based on other reviews on Yelp, I decided to book this tour. I was not disappointed in the slightest. Geordie Brown was thoroughly entertaining, knowledgeable, funny, considerate, and patient. It started raining on the tour which only added to the fun factor. (I'm from Las Vegas, and I don't get to experience rain, thunder, and cloudy skies very much. The weather was a perfect ambiance to the theme of the tour.) I really enjoyed Geordie's enthusiasm in his storytelling. I can't wait to return and take another tour!

“Our guide was truly inspiring.”
Reviewed by Chris from Phenix City, United States on July 29, 2013 Our guide was wonderful she truly enjoyed what she was doing and history is her passion.
We were very happy with our tour and wished it was longer. I would have liked to go into some of the establishments during the tour but it was 6:30pm that would make it even more Terrific.
Thanks to our Tour guide ? Michelle I hope I got her name correct.
“Interesting and entertaining!!”
Reviewed by Kimberley from Estero, United States on July 8, 2013 What a great tour! We got a great tour of the area as well as a very entertaining historical lesson. Geordie was able to keep the attention of adults as well as 3 children between 8 and 11. I would definitely recommend!!
“Excellent tour for a unique and personal experience.”
Reviewed by Elliott from Hope Mills, United States on July 7, 2013 I was very happy with the tour. This seemed like a better experience for me than the more commercial tour company's might provide. I would recommend this as a must do for any visitor to the Holy City.
“Great tour with sound but entertaining history, told by charming guide”
Reviewed by Ann from Port Royal, United States on February 25, 2013 My group and I had a great time listening to Geordie tell stories about Charleston's history. I've been on other tours that were only anecdotes, but Georgie gave a lot of great background history to the stories, even as he told them in conversational manner.
Reviewed by Ryan from Westfield, United States on November 26, 2012 It was a great tour and a lot of fun for a history junkie! :-) Our guide's stories leaned more heavily on the pirates and a little bit on the military history of Charleston (i.e. not much in the way of ghost stories) so in that respect it may have been a little nicer to skip the little parts about the ghosts and focus even more on the pirates. Even so, I would still give this a hearty recommendation - 4/5 stars easily!
“A Walking Tour Worth Taking!”
Reviewed by MARGARET from ARCHDALE, United States on September 12, 2012 My sister and I very much enjoyed the tour! It was very informative and much fun! I learned much about the history of Charleston and the pirates. The guide was a lot of fun. I would recommend it to other family members and my friends. Thank you!!!
