Berlin is a is a metropolis, marked by a multitude of ethnic groups, cultures, and faiths due to the influx of people from all regions of the world – a cultural melting pot. The various parts of the city are multicultural to varying degrees, as is the number of migrants.

Our tour leads you to the colorful Neukölln quarter, strongly characterized by Turkish immigration. On our discovery tour, we will get to know the diversity and distinctive characteristics, between tradition and acculturation, of Neukölln’s culture.

As we wander the streets, we find the Turkish lifestyle everywhere around us. We’ll stop periodically to meet various people in their day to day environment. Our hosts tell us their stories and provide us with information and impressive insights into the daily life of Turkish people in Berlin today.

We’ll discover backyard mosques and visit Turkish businesses, like supermarkets and bazaars, and we will discover their culinary specialties in tee houses and bakeries. As we finish the tour, we will treat ourselves to a communal meal with culinary specialties from Turkey.

  • Rating: 5 “very interesting to learn more about the neighborhood”

Reviewed by Dan from Berlin, Germany on June 3rd, 2013 Enjoyed it very much, in spite of the rain. We got to see and speak with people that our guide had become friends with. There was no high-pressure sales tactics or anything like that, just a walking tour revealing interesting people and stories of this current chapter in the city's history.
The only thing I'd recommend is to more clearly describe the meeting point location.

  • Rating: 5 “Neukolln like you've never experienced before”

Reviewed by Edial from Berlin, Germany on May 27th, 2013 This was a great tour! One of the most interesting ones I have ever done. As someone living in Neukolln for more than 2 years, this tour was even more interesting. Adda is a great guide, and it is a great chance to speak with the people that live in the area. Among other things, we went to visit a mosque, had turkish sweets, and had some very interesting conversations along the way.

I can highly recommend the tour, even though if you are from Berlin. If you're visiting Berlin, this tour will is a great opportunity to learn things about one of the most interesting neighborhoods in Berlin at the moment.
