Reviewed by Steve from Sheidow Park, Australia on June 3rd, 2014 If your base is alexander platz you can catch both the purple and yellow bus routes right there ,but you don't need to use this service if your only going to museum island as it's a short walk .it was however difficult to locate the stop points if you got off and then decided to walk to another pick up point

  • Rating: 3 “Purple line was disorganized. Yellow line not so much.”

Reviewed by a GetYourGuide Customer from RR3 Stouffville, Ontario, Canada, Canada on May 22nd, 2014 The stops are not marked so it is difficult to see exactly where the bus will stop. We sometimes had to run to catch it. Waiting for a bus to arrive on yellow line is 15 min. or more. Purple line 30-45 mins. Bus drivers will drive right by you and let you wait another 30 mins. despite hand signals from passengers. Not acceptable.

  • Rating: 4 “Great way to See the Sights of Berlin”

Reviewed by a GetYourGuide Customer from Coogee, Australia on June 16th, 2013 We'd definitely recommend this tour and it is really the best way to see all the main sights which are spread out over the large city. The main tip is to buy your ticket later in the day so that it lasts for exactly 48 hours..then you can use it over 3 days. We made the mistake of buying it at 9.45 am whereas if we had bought it at midday we could have had transport for the third day. They also have ticket checkers randomly getting on the bus...we got checked 3 times in one day...so that is a bit mean if they make you get off the bus at exactly 48 hours after your ticket purchase. We found the commentary to be a bit sparse...would have liked more information. But there were plenty of buses and a lot of stops so that was all good. The boat trip part of the ticket is well worth it too.

  • Rating: 5 “A very cheap way to see some of the many sights of Berlin”

Reviewed by Kerwin from Houston, United States on March 17th, 2013 The bus part of the tour is quite good as you can just ride it for 3 days and watch Berlin. I loved the recorded audio, except that I don't think the Berlin Tower is the tallest structure in Europe anymore, its the Shard in London. Plus one of the embassies are flipped. It should say the Turkish embassy then the South African embassy.

I got a chance to see parts of Berlin I had not seen before so this worked out well; the staff is polite and the buses show just about every ten minutes. Watch for traffic diversions as you will miss parts of the tour. But if you do, just hop on and off again. You can use it as your transportation around Berlin :-).

The Spree river cruise was not running for a week, but I did not find out until I got off walked around looked for it, and did not find it. However, I was offered any other tour I wanted, so I picked the asisi promenade which is at Checkpoint Charlie. This museum is worth visiting as well. So I have to come back and do the river cruise

  • Rating: 4 “A good way to see the city, but the zoo in winter is not great”

Reviewed by Lydia from Luleå, Sweden on January 28th, 2013 The bus trip is good - it includes all the places you would want and they come frequently, so it is easy to get on and off. They only go in one direction, so you have to plan your departures carefully as 2 hours is a long time to spend re-doing teh circuit (the underground system is easy to use though) The earplugs are awful.
The zoo is small in terms of area and large in terms of variety. Most of the spaces for the animals are good, although the primates and big cats were in smaller spaces than one would hope. In the winter, it was empty of people and peaceful, but the animals were also less inclined to be out an about.

  • Rating: 4 “An excellent way to see the city of Berlin”

Reviewed by Philip from Bury, United Kingdom on October 25th, 2012 We used the sight seeing tour service over two days on a recent visit to Berlin and we were not dissaponted, it takes you to all the major sights and it was value for money.
The only crtical thing was the lack of signs at the drop off sights but this did not spoil the experience.

  • Rating: 4 “Excellent two days seeing the city. Great value and experience.”

  • Rating: 5 “Good Overview!”

Reviewed by a GetYourGuide Customer from Berlin, Germany on September 3rd, 2012 I am a Hop on Hop off fan! I love the buses to get a feel for a city. Instead of spending time underground traveling from destination to destination this will take you to all the important sights. Get off, check them out and off you go to the next one! This tour also included the boat tour. It was fun and gave a little different perspective. The kids liked the boat especially. I recommend this tour for the first day in a new city. Ride the loop and pick your favorite spots to get off.

  • Rating: 4 “Very affordable, nice and informative!”

Reviewed by Nancy from Ypsilanti, United States on June 2nd, 2012 The two-day bus tour was nice to be able to get off at stops of interest you wanted and get on when you were done. Even stopped at a flea market, which was nice. I was surprised that everything stopped at 6 PM, so we had to do the boat tour in the bright sunny afternoon, rather than in the evening as we thought. Boat was difficult to find. Not clearly marked like the bus, and we had to ask several other boat tours which one was ours to find it.

  • Rating: 4 “The bus tour is excellent, but the boat trip could be better.”

Reviewed by Martin from Barrow in Furness, United Kingdom on May 27th, 2012 The boat trip covers everything you could want to see in a short visit to Berlin; the recorded guide is clear and informative (in over 12 languages!) and the buses comfortable. THe boat trip was shorter than we expected and the commentary not up to the standard set by the bus tour - not enough information on the English Language version, and the headset didn't work very well.

The hop-on/off nature of the bus tour is excellent, with the stops well-placed, Drivers and office staff were friendly and helpful. Overall I'd recommend this tour, though maybe we'd take a different boat trip.

  • Rating: 4 “Expensive, but worth it to see the Reichstag. Take photo ID!”

Reviewed by Robert from Gainsborough, United Kingdom on April 3rd, 2012 A bus tour is always a good introduction to a city. It was OK if you got off the bus and back on at the same place but if not, the stops were not identified. This tour was more expensive than others (some were 9 euros) but access to the dome of the Reichstag was brilliant. The security staff were reluctant to let my wife in as she did not have photo ID with her. Your company must alert tourists to this. Fantastic views from the restaurant but the cake was below average!

  • Rating: 5 “Nice pre-selected locations, excellent wait time!”

Reviewed by a GetYourGuide Customer from Uster, Switzerland on December 12th, 2011 The reason why I picked this Tour was due to the locations available in the package.
It was really nice to see both historic and modern sides of Berlin. The must see attractions and Berliner hot-spots were also included. The tour really surpassed my expectations where it allowed reasonable time for passengers to hop on and off the bus without too much stress. Also the fact that every 15 minutes a Bus is available is very inviting where I could go out at certain destination with plenty of time to explore the area.
I really recommend this to others!

  • Rating: 2

Reviewed by Kurt from Guetersloh, Germany on December 30th, 2010 The Reichstag visit and coffee and cake at the restaurant on top of the Reichstag were very good and a unique experience as the cupola is normally closed to the public and can only be seen with a reservation for the restaurant.
The Berlin Sightseeing tour was a big disappointment though, we had to wait much longer than expected for our busses (many other companies doing a lot more frequent busses) and the tours finished just after 3pm rather than the advertised 5 pm (all other hop on hop off companies were still running well after that time) which left us stranded at Alexanderplatz, miles away from the Reichtstag were we were supposed to be at 3.30 for our coffee. We ended up walking for about one hour just to get to the Reichstag experience on time. Do not go on the Yellow BBS Circle Line buses, there are much better companies out there.
