The tour begins inside the Syntagma metro station where your guide will show you briefly (in 10 minutes) the archaeological exhibits that came to light during the construction of the metro. You will then continue to the House of the Greek parliament.
At the Monument to the Unknown Soldier you will watch the changing of the guards.Later, see the National Gardens, the beautiful neoclassical Zappeion Hall, surviving columns of the Temple of Zeus and Hadrian’s Arch tower in front of the hall.
From there you will enter the famous Plaka district where you will see the portrait of Melina Merkouri. Then, you will follow the beautiful pedestrian walkway of Dionyssiou Areopagitou to the Acropolis. Begin your ascent while taking in the spectacular views of the city below. Your guide will give you a detailed explanation of the glorious monuments of the Acropolis such as the Parthenon, Erechteion, Propylaia, and the Nike Temple. You will also learn about surrounding monuments including the Dionysus sanctuary, Philopappos Hill, Mars Hill, and Ancient Agora.

Please note: The first part of the tour ends at the Acropolis at 12:30. At this point, you will have 1 hour and 10 minutes of free time to get a snack or a drink before you start the guided tour in the museum at 13:45. You can do this in the coffee shop of the museum or in the many snack and coffee places on the pedestrian walkway next to the museum.
