“When in Amsterdam... one must bike”
Reviewed by Cheryl from Goodlettsville, United States on June 16th, 2014 You better have your wits about you when hopping on a bike in Amsterdam. The locals are nuts and make sport of running the touring bikers off the road. "Yellow Bike Tours" has typical bikes for the area, but my family found them difficult to maneuver and control... even my 6ft husband. My teenage girls and I are all around 5 ft and the bikes were really cumbersome for us.
I wish the tour had been more informative as I don't know any more about the city today than I did before I went on the tour. On the bright side, I can now say I survived biking in Amsterdam and I did get to see (and smell) many sites of the city in a timely fashion (even the red light district and numerous "coffee shops" legally selling and burning cannibas).
As far as "Yellow Bike" goes, they are a good company and their bikes were in good repair. Our tour guide was very kind and spoke English well. I would recommend the tour with reservation to others.
Reviewed by Deepanjan from Glandore, Australia on July 8th, 2013 The tour was very good. It gave a very good overview of Amsterdam. Our tour guide Martha was excellent. I wish the weather was slightly better but overall it was an excellent way to explore Amsterdam.
“Wonderfull overal view of the city.”
Reviewed by Michel from Quebec, Canada on July 3rd, 2013 We had an excellent guide that guided us in French! The experience was wonderful. We received pertinent information about the city and tip about what to do.
“Really nice- would love to go again. It would have been nice to have gotten a bit more info.”
Reviewed by Heiko from Düsseldorf, Germany on May 21st, 2013 Nice guide, always did a good job keeping us together.
“We had a ton of fun, even though it was raining.”
Reviewed by Joachim from Stuttgart, Germany on May 19th, 2013 Touring a city by bike is super fun, so long as the terrain is flat like it was here! The streets were covered in rain, and even though there were tons of bike riders everything was totally stress free (and we aren't bike experts by any means). We had booked a German tour, it was much easier for our guide to speak English. But it wasn't a problem.
